"Jimin. Please." Jungkook spoke through the door.
Jimin's eyes lowered a little more as he frowned. No. No. Jimin couldn't handle anything else right now. Jungkook came by at least once or twice a day. Dropping off food and begging Jimin to come to his place but Jimin refused to answer the door while he was there. Jimin couldn't bare to see what his stupidity had done to Jungkook. Jungkook deserved better. Jimin closed his eyes tightly as he gripped the blanket for dear life as Jungkook knocked again.
"Jimin, I'm not leaving until you open this door." Jungkook said and Jimin cursed under his breath, knowing his neighbors would get agitated soon by all the noise.
Jungkook was about to knock again when he heard the door unlock and he lowered his arm as it was cracked open, and he could barely see Jimin. It was so dark in Jimin's apartment, and the slight smell didn't go unnoticed by Jungkook's sensitive nose. Frowning as he tilted his head.
"Jimin?" Jungkook spoke gently, softly.
"Please leave." Jimin said, his voice hoarse from all the crying he'd done as of late.
"Leave? Jimin, I'm not leaving. Everyone is worried sick about you. Fuck, I am going crazy trying to figure out – "
"Just forget about me and go. You'll disturb the neigh – "
"Go? You think I will just forget about the person carrying my child? Jimin, I'm coming in. Excuse me." Jungkook said, pushing against the door, Jimin not having the strength right now to stop him as he was forced back.
"Jungkook! No – "
But it was too late. Jungkook was inside. Jungkook turned on the light switch as he closed the door, and the light was honestly blinding to Jimin. Jungkook turned and saw the horrible state of Jimin's apartment. This was a major contrast from the first time he saw it, clean, almost pristine. Jungkook's heart broke. Was this the state Jimin had been living in for the last two weeks. Jimin looked down, clearly ashamed that Jungkook had to see his apartment like this. Jungkook's gaze fell on Jimin, the other looked so small. It wasn't hard to tell that Jimin lost whatever initial weight he'd gained from the pregnancy. Jungkook closed his eyes as he sighed and then forced them back open as his eyes reflected pain.
"I should have come sooner. I'm sorry." Jungkook said.
"What are you sorry for?" Jimin mumbled, brows furrowing.
"For letting you get this bad." Jungkook said, taking a step towards Jimin but freezing when Jimin backed away from him.
"There is nothing you can do for me Jungkook. Just leave, please." Jimin pleaded as he closed his eyes.
"I can't Jimin. I can't leave you like this, pregnant – "
"WOULD YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!?" Jimin suddenly yelled as he lifted his head and glared at Jungkook so hatefully, it took him back.
"Jimin, I – "
"I don't want your or anyone else's help! I – I was fine before! Before – before you all just invaded my space! I didn't want this! I – I was fine!" Jimin said, his eyes lowering as he let out a sob and placed a shaking hand to his face as he lost his strength and Jungkook caught him as he held Jimin close.
"Shh, shh." Jungkook whispered, holding Jimin tight as he felt the other clinging to him desperately. "I'm right here."
"Y – You shouldn't be – y – you should just – f – forget me." Jimin sobbed as he buried his face into Jungkook's shoulder as Jungkook gently rubbed Jimin's back, letting the other cry out all his frustrations until he could calm down.
Jungkook refused to let Jimin stay there with his apartment in that state and once the other was completely burnt out from crying, he didn't resist Jungkook carrying him to his car and taking Jimin back to his place. Carefully putting Jimin on the couch in a half laying and half sitting position, he crouched down in front of the Omega, grabbing both of Jimin's hands.
"Jimin." Jungkook called gently once more.
Jimin's dazed eyes slowly turning on him, bloodshot and swollen from crying again. Jungkook squeezed Jimin's hands.
"I want you to stay with me from now on. We can turn one of the rooms into a bedroom just for you if you want but I need you here." Jungkook pleaded.
Someone needed him. Jungkook needed him? Jimin swallowed, his throat dry and hurting as he looked down at Jungkook's hands over his.
"What about my apartment?" Jimin asked, his tone flat.
"Don't worry about that. I will take care of it, just please say yes." Jungkook pleaded as he looked desperate and Jimin felt bad enough with how he'd treated the Alpha that had been nothing but loving and kind towards him.
Giving a small nod, Jungkook visibly relaxed as he looked down.
"Thank you, shit, thank you Jimin." Jungkook mumbled.
Jimin glanced to the side as he pulled his hands away from Jungkook's and caused the Alpha to lift his head.
"Don't thank me for causing you trouble." Jimin mumbled.
"You aren't causing me or anyone else trouble Jimin. We all get that what happened was traumatic for you. It would be for anyone." Jungkook said, gently rubbing Jimin's thighs, just missing contact with his boyfriend and desperate to give comfort to Jimin's broken form.
Jimin frowned, he didn't want to snap at Jungkook again, but he was starting to hate how the other just forgave him. Jimin slowly looked back at those big doe eyes and couldn't help but feel his stomach tighten.
"I – I don't know what to do Jungkook." Jimin said, feeling that familiar sensation of burning behind his eyes. "I – I thought I could do this."
"You can." Jungkook encouraged.
"How? I can't even focus anymore! I – I can't dance! I just – " Jimin closed his eyes tightly. " – I'm useless now."
"Jimin. You are not useless." Jungkook said sternly.
Jimin slightly opened his eyes as Jungkook was frowning up at him, clearly upset with Jimin's belittling of himself.
"The whole reason those bitch – I mean – no, that was right – the only reason those bitches did that to you was because they are jealous." Jungkook growled out, "Jealous that you have more talent in your left pinky than they do in their whole bodies."
Jimin's brows furrowed, frowning even more.
"Jealous? But why? They are just as talented. I mean – didn't they make it into the company's competitive program." Jimin mumbled.
"That isn't the point baby. Even if people get what they want, sometimes it still isn't enough. Sometimes they take out their own shortcomings on others to try and lift themselves up." Jungkook said, looking down as he rubbed his thumb across Jimin's thigh.
"I – I didn't expect things to be like this – " Jimin said, suddenly placing his hand over Jungkook's as he laced their fingers, slowly feeling the urge to just be touched by Jungkook. " – I mean, I knew it would be bad, but I guess I didn't realize how bad."
"I know." Jungkook said, bringing Jimin's hand to his lips as he kissed at his knuckles before looking back up at Jimin. "But you can't let them win Jimin."
Jimin's eyes widened a little as he stared into Jungkook's, now filled with determination on Jimin's behalf.
"You sacrificed more than most people would for your passion, your dream. You can't let anyone take that from you, even me. You worked too damn hard to let it end here." Jungkook said as Jimin's eyes slowly widened.
"Jungkook..." Jimin whispered, oddly feeling a strange warmth start to spread through his chest, that same warmth he would feel when engrossed in a routine or learning something new for his craft.
Jungkook offered the prettiest smile Jimin had ever seen as he nodded.
"I know it can be hard sometimes to pick ourselves back up after a set back but if you don't then you are the one that misses out. The world will keep going and you don't deserve to be left behind because of some petty, jealous girls." Jungkook said and Jimin couldn't help the small smile as he tilted his head.
"I really don't deserve you." Jimin said.
Jungkook scoffed as he smiled a little and winked at Jimin.
"Funny. I was thinking the same thing about myself when it comes to you." Jungkook said, humming thoughtfully.
"I am awful." Jimin mumbled, color finally returning to his face as the realization of Jungkook's words hit him.
"You are amazing Park Jimin and I, Jeon Jungkook, will accept nothing less." Jungkook said as he leaned up, hesitating on kissing Jimin but Jimin was the one to close the different, having missed the feeling and warmth of Jungkook's lips.
After a moment, Jimin pulled back and smiled, a real smile for the first time in two weeks as he looked down shyly.
"Thank you again Jungkook, for pulling me out of the hole I buried myself in." Jimin said, blushing when Jungkook kissed at his lips and nuzzled their faces together.
"I'll do it as many times as it takes. I'll never leave you hanging, even if we weren't together. I'm afraid you will never get rid of me now." Jungkook chuckled, earning a very missed, soft giggle from Jimin.
Jungkook was right. Jimin couldn't allow himself to give up like this.
When Jimin walked into the dance studio, all eyes turned on him, all of them worried as Hoseok stood up and eyed Jimin. Jimin looked down, tugging at the ends of his hoodie sleeves as he mentally and emotionally prepared himself to speak. Jimin then took a deep breath to calm his pounding heart as he bowed towards the group.
"I – I'm sorry." Jimin said, "For worrying everyone – "
But before Jimin could finish the group rushed him, all looking relieved as they all tried to get a hug in and said things like, 'It was okay!' 'Welcome back!' and Hoseok stood behind as he watched the scene and smiled to himself for a moment before trying to joining in too. Jimin didn't have to pick up all the pieces at once but picking up the first one was the push he needed to keep going. Jimin finally felt like himself again when dancing. His mind clear and focused as his body finally felt right. When lunch time came, Jimin went outside for some fresh air and saw the same group of girls. The surprise was clear as day on their faces as Jimin turned his attention directly on them as they all looked away, not able to meet his gaze and Jimin offered a light bow of his head before heading down the steps and smiled at seeing Jungkook there waiting for him. The faint sound of the girls fussing amongst each other drifted out of earshot as Jungkook walked with him to the nearby café, telling him about how his meeting went. Jimin listened intently, never wanting to miss a moment again.
"Each and every moment we have on this Earth is precious and should be cherished with those we love."
