"I know, I know you didn't mean it. It's okay, alright? It's gonna be okay. Let's just get back to the farm. We'll fix up that nasty cut on your head."

"Is Rick back? Silas and Glenn too?" Emerson asked.

Shane gulped. "Y-Yeah. They're fine. They're worried about you."

Emerson nodded and let Shane help her to the vehicle. "Don't ask me to drive, okay?"

"Wouldn't dream of it." Shane told her as he helped her into the car.

With that, Shane sped off down the road as Emerson fell back asleep.

"Oh my god, Emerson. Are you okay?" Maggie exclaimed as her and Shane helped her onto the couch.

"Yes. I'm okay. Where's Silas? Rick and Glenn? Are they mad at me?"

Maggie looked at her. "They're not back yet, sweetheart."

Emerson turned to Shane. "You lied to me."

"Look, I had to get you back here. You need to get fixed up. You're hurt, Emerson." Shane argued.

Before Emerson could say anything else, Carl walked inside the living room. "Here, I brought you dinner. Since you missed it and all."

"Yeah. . . I did miss dinner, didn't I? Are you okay?" Emerson asked him.

Carl smiled, "I should be asking you that. Are you okay?"

"Yeah, buddy, I'm okay." She told him, reassuring him.

"Will you not run off again?" Carl asked her quietly as he sat next to her. "I don't want you to end up like Amy. . . Or Sophia. . ."

Emerson sniffled, "I promise kid. No more running off." She told him as she brought him in for a hug.

"I'll go get Patricia. She can stitch up your leg and head for you." Maggie told her, patting her shoulder.

When morning came, Emerson was sitting on the porch in the rocking chair. She was wearing a pair of sleep shorts and a sweatshirt. Her hair was still wet from the shower Maggie made her take. Her leg was elevated and now, all she could do was wait for her family to get back.

Eventually, most of them came to sit outside with her and wait.

When the truck finally pulled up, Emerson stood up slowly. Maggie helped her down the steps and her eyes kept looking for any sign of Silas in the vehicle.

When Rick saw her, he noticed her stitches first. Hershel and Glenn both got out of the vehicle and began barking orders.

Silas didn't come out of the car.

"Are you okay? What happened?" Rick asked her, grabbing her arm to scan for any more scrapes.

"Car accident. I was coming after you guys, like I promised." Emerson gulped. "Where's Silas?"

"We got attacked. . . We were just having a conversation with these guys and they pulled a gun on Silas. I wasn't quick enough, Emmy, I'm so sorry." Rick answered quietly.

"Where is he, Rick?" Emerson said louder. Rick just moved closer to her and grabbed her in his embrace. "Where's my brother? Rick, where is he? He was supposed to come back! You promised!"

Emerson started to sob loudly as she hit Rick's chest weakly. "I was supposed to protect him. I was supposed to come find you and instead, Nathan got killed and Silas. . . Well, I wasn't there." She mumbled as she cried loudly.

Rick held onto her for a long time. Carl ran to Emerson and hugged both her and his dad. He wished her pain to go away.

When Emerson pulled away, she wiped her eyes.

She wanted to die at this given moment. Without Silas, she was lost.

Lori watched the three of them from the living room window and she couldn't help but feel sorry for herself. For her family. She finally knew what she had to do for the better of everyone and for the better of her family.

She had to kill Emerson Scott.
