Sighing I thank my sister under my breathe, she's literally the best after any other thing or person.
I cleared my plate less than an hour later. I was done with my exam so there was no guilt if I decided on staying on social media throughout the night.

Opening my WhatsApp, a message was the first to take my drop cap before other messages kept entering.

I open it first, reading the message.

"*Hello stranger,*" the message reads,
I swipe to the about on he's WhatsApp profile and thank goodness it wasn't hard to notify. It was Allen Miller.

I took some minutes before I responded and when I did, he was no more active. Secretly I wanted to send the message earlier.

"Hey👋🏻" I send him, still waiting if he'd come back online.

I roll on the bed, my back flat and my hands around my waist line, my phone resting on my stomach as I waited to hear a click from my phone notifications for a new message.

A slight knock on my door had me realizing I haven't spoken properly with my dad since he returned.

"Come in" I say nicely, as my fathers tall features were reveled.

"Daddy's Cinderella" he calls me as he walks further inside and I smile, tucking my hair behind my ears.

"I'm sorry dad,I should have come sooner to see you" I quickly apologize.

He smiles, sitting on my bed just where my legs rested.

"I'm here now" he rubs he's palm gently in small circles around my right knee.

"The exam was normal, I'm planning not to get excited knowing how well I'm going to smash the whole thing" I smile, checking my phone to see if he'd respond back.

"I guess you smashed it just like how you'll always beat me in chess" my dad reminds me, and I'm remembered of our sweet memories of how we bonded like we are now.

"No dad,you let me win" I giggle, checking my phone again.

What's wrong with me.

"Are you expecting an email or something" my dad asks,

He's concerned,
Sometimes I'm left to believe that he's more concerned about me than my mother.

"There's this guy I'm getting to know from the IELTS exams I wrote yesterday" I play with my fingers, cause it's something have been used to.

"Breathe, time, space, this things always works when you're trying to know someone." He leans backwards, still looking at me.

My father sometimes speaks to me in parables but the older I got, I started understanding every bit of it.

I hug him,pecking him goodnight.
"I'll take this" he scowls to the dirty plate on the dresser, the ones I used earlier without taking them out.

I pout, and he rolls he's eyes

"Next time I wouldn't be so nice" he warns, he's face having no change of mood.

My sister walks in some seconds later, my dad pecks her and saying he's goodnights too.

"Goodnight Molly" he sweetly calls to her,
"Goodnight daddy" she smiles, walking over to our duvet drawer to get a clean one and get hers changed.

"Goodnight Selina" my dad winks to me as I stiffen a giggle.

He leaves with my used dishes as he shuts the door after him.

My phone chimes, a message from Allen Miller.

"What's up?" "What you doing up?"The message reads,

I turned over about to reply to he's messages before my dads words hit my head

*Breathe, space, and time* on remembering I shove my phone under my pillow and forced myself to sleep.

"Goodnight Molly" I sweetly call to my sister before drifting off to sleep.

I will respond back in the morning I tell myself.
