Wendy - Chapter 6

"Hey Will- oh I see that you still have my jacket on" he said smirking at me. I looked down to see what I was wearing and sure enough I was wearing Mike's jacket that he gave to me yesterday. I started to blush from embarrassment, I didn't even know I was wearing that I just grabbed something random from my closet in the morning. "o-oh..do you- do you want it back?" I asked him embarrassed trying to cover my face so he couldn't see I was blushing. "Nah you can keep it, it looks better on you anyways" he told me as he put his hand on my shoulder. I felt my cheeks start to head up even more and I think Mike saw that I was blushing because he started to smile even wider and laugh slightly.

We talked for a few minutes longer until the bell rang. We both walked to class which was Maths again, when we got there we sat down at our normal seats and started to talk again and laugh at the most random things.

Soon the teacher came in a spoke up. "Hello class! We have a new student joining us today so please make them feel welcome" our Maths teacher said as a girl with long brown hair and bright green eyes walked into our class. She wore a white cropped shirt that has small flowers on it and blue jeans and she wore a few bracelets on her wrists too.

"Please introduce yourself to the class" our teacher said to the brown haired girl beside him. "Hello, my name is Wendy Smith and I hope that we can all be good friends" Wendy told us as she put on a bright smile. "It's nice to meet you Wendy, you can sit next to the boy with the grey hoodie on" he said pointing to the empty seat next to Mike. She thanked him and made her way to her seat.

"Hi I'm Wendy! What's your name?" Wendy asked Mike as she sat down next to him. Mike turned his head to look at her "I'm Micheal Wheeler but everyone just calls me Mike" he told her. I couldn't help but feel a bit jealous and I know I shouldn't because he just met her but I just couldn't help it.

I sighed slightly and turned away from the two and tried to listen to the teacher but I couldn't because Mike and Wendy just wouldn't stop talking. "Can you guys be a little more quiet" I asked them turning my head to look at them. "Oh sorry Will" Mike said to me and gave a small smile. I turned my head slightly to look at Wendy and she just rolled her eyes at me and looked at the teacher.

I cant wait for the day to end I can just already tell that me and Wendy aren't going to get along every well.

Tuesday
September 17th 1990
Hawkins high school lunch hall
1:15pm

It was finally lunch time and me and Mike were making our way to our normal lunch table. When we sat down me and Mike saw the new girl Wendy walk into the lunch hall then out of no where Mike started to shout Wendy's name. Can this day get even worse?

She came over to us and sat very close to Mike like weirdly close to him but I just tried to ignore it and not pay much attention to it.

Soon enough the rest of the party made there way to our table and sat down. "Who's thing?" Lucas asked "oh this is Wendy and she's new to this school" Mike said putting a hand on her shoulder which only made me more jealous then I already was.

A few minutes passed and now everyone was having their own conversations. El and Max were talking to each other, Dustin and Lucas were talking to each other, Mike and..Wendy were talking to each other which leaves me to just seat there awkwardly, not talking and just looking down at my food.

I looked at Mike and Wendy and saw that they were nearly holding hands. That's when I couldn't take it anymore, I felt like my eyes were started to burn and tears starting to form in them. I stood up quickly making everyone turn their heads to look at me. "Will what are you doing?" Mike asked me. I looked down at his and Wendy's hands and they were touching. I ran out of the lunch hall and into the boys bathroom and locked myself into one of the stalls.
