11. Training, Exploring and a Fight

The first training with Elysia was a complete loss in my eyes. Even when I activated my Valkyrie battlesuit, I didn't stand a chance. The first fight between us was supposed to be a test of my strength and in less than 5 minutes I was defeated. But Elysia calmly told me what I had to pay attention to and that we would work forward step by step. In addition to Elysia's training, I also got tips from Hua and Sakura, because Elysia had recommended it to me. I even went so far as to start making notes, which I had to read spontaneously every time Kalpas appeared in the lobby. I knew that in his eyes it probably looked like I was running away, but I knew that if I stayed near him at the moment I would snap again.

I just read through the notes again, which I wrote down and tried to remember everything. The knocking on my room door disturbed me, however. ,,Hi~ ready for our training?" Elysia asked me with a smile. I nodded and got up from the bed. ,,How is Mei doing?" I asked, since I had hardly seen her at the moment. She was either deeper in the realm or was outside on missions. ,,She's making good progress, even though she hardly ever comes to see me anymore," Elysia answered and pouted. ,,Don't worry, I'm sure she'll ask for your help again soon," I assured her.

When Elysia and I arrived at our usual training spot, she immediately faced me. ,,Let's see if you can last longer than usual today," Elysia began playfully and drew her bow. With my pistols in hand, I waited for her first move. The moment she let go of her arrow, I sprinted forward. Just before the arrow could catch me, I slid to the side and started shooting at Elysia. But she dodged as well, and did it much faster and more elegantly than I did. The whole thing went back and forth for a good while until Elysia defeated me again. ,,You have made great progress," said Elysia and helped me up. ,,Really?" I asked, because I didn't really feel any change. 

,,Of course. What I noticed is that your posture with your pistols seems to be comfortable for you, but from my point of view pistols are not the right weapon for you," Elysia explained to me. ,,Oh... Well, I have trained with many weapons, such as Katana, lances, spears, chakrams and gauntlets. But pistols were the most comfortable,'' I counted. ,,Hmm... How about a bow?" Elysia suggested. ,,Bow sounds cool, but I have no idea how to use a bow,'' I replied. ,,Don't worry, I will teach you. And then you will be as elegant and cute as me," said Elysia and smiled at me. ,,She is so cute!" screamed the Herrscher in my head. 'Why do you always have to show up in these situations!!!' I cursed.

After the training I also decided to explore the realm a bit. At some point I arrived at a level, which looked like a city. Here it was nice and quiet and I could sit on the edge. I had taken a page on the notebook with me and made me already sketches how I could use the bow as soon as I have it. But my rest was not long granted to me, because the environment seemed to heat up I knew immediately who was here. When I turned around I could see Kalpas between the flames.

'Great...' I thought, not pleased. I turned back to my notes and continued writing. Who knows maybe he will disappear again if I ignore him. But the heat really didn't make it easy to concentrate them. ,,Yuki, watch out!" the Herrscher suddenly shouted and I quickly jumped to the side as a burning fist hit where I had been sitting before. ,,Are you crazy?" I asked Kalpas, who was just getting up again. He started laughing again. ,,That was pretty close, Herrscher. You don't seem to be as weak as I thought at the beginning," said Kalpas. ,,Maybe it's because Elysia helped me train and the Herrscher warned me," I explained. ,,So the Herrscher inside you is already awake, but you can't use the powers?" asked Kalpas and started to laugh. ,,Don't let im provoke you,'' the Herrscher told me calmly. 'Don't worry I won't. Not this time.'

,,So? Then I can't use my full power, that's what I'm training for. So that I am ready when the time comes. That also means that I will not let you roast me. After all, I don't have a life to give to you.'' I replied calmly and turned away from him. If he doesn't go, then I'll just look for another place. But it did not come so far, because Kalpas attacked me again. This time, however, I drew my pistols and pointed them at him. ,,Listen, I don't have the nerve to get into a fight right now, but if I have to, I'll fight back. So fuck off, already.'' I said calmly. Kalpas laughed again, but this time it turned into a crazy laugh. ,,Come Herrscher, show me your thirst for blood!" he shouted and the flames increased.

Kalpas really didn't give me a moment to breathe and kept attacking me. But his heat seemed to have melted my guns at the tips. So I could no longer use my pistols, I dodged as best I could. When Kalpas' ignited fist came dangerously close to me, I used a void portal to quickly disappear for the first time in a long time. I fell roughly to the ground at the other end of the floor. ,,Ouch... I really have to practice landing..." I mumbled painfully. I had almost forgotten my situation by the fall and when I wanted to get up quickly it was already too late. In front of my face was the flaming fist of Kalpas.

,,In a real fight, that would be the end for you, Herrscher." Kalpas said, and his flames seemed to fade. ,,Why don't you finish it?" I asked, confused. I had heard from Mei that Kalpas had never spared anyone. ,,The fight was boring, you have no thirst for blood. All you do is run away," Kalpas replied and disappeared through a gate to wherever. When the gate closed, I was still sitting on the ground, perplexed.

,,What the hell is his fucking problem?!" I cursed, hitting the floor with my hand.
