"Well, whatever you're doing, I support it. I can't remember the last time you even talked to a girl, let alone got laid-..."
"That's what I said!!" Dylan shouts, throwing his arms up in the air.
Leave it to these two idiots to care about my sex life more than me.
Sometimes, I question what compelled me to sign the lease with these two again for a third year.
"What about getting laid?" Tanner walks through the front door with a few groceries in hand, and I find myself looking up at the ceiling with dread. He we go again...
Bryce puts a hand on my shoulder as he looks over at our fourth roommate, "You know, just the usual."
Tanner shakes his head while trying to hide a laugh, "You guys give him so much shit for that, at least he isn't participating in the spread of diseases around this campus." He turns towards Dylan, who gives him the middle finger.
This is why Tanner is my favorite, he always got my back.
"For your information, my test results came back negative, again!!" Dylan says, putting his hands on his hips while giving Tanner a look.
He ran into a little bit of a scare last weekend when he got himself black out drunk and couldn't remember if he wrapped it before he tapped it or not.
I keep telling him that he needs to be more careful, but of course he never wants to listen to me.
"Congrats, want a trophy?" Tanner snickers, before setting his groceries bags onto the kitchen counter.
Dylan goes to look into one of the grocery bags, but Tanner quickly smacks his hand away, shaking his head.
"Not yours."
"But I'm hungry." Dylan whines, attempting to look in the bag again.
His hand gets slapped again.
"It's not for you, it's for my girlfriend," he turns towards the rest of us with his eyes narrowed, "so if any of you touch this food, I will kill you." He says before turning back to put them away.
It's his and his girlfriend's two-year anniversary, and like the amazing boyfriend he is, he's cooking her dinner.
I prefer his girlfriend, Stevie, a lot more than Morgan.
Dylan puts his arms over his chest, pouting as if he was a child who just got yelled at by his parents. He walks into the living room before taking the spot next to me on the couch.
I already know what he's going to say before the words even leave his mouth.
"Can you make me dinner?" He asks, putting his hands together for extra effect.
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Pretty please with a cherry on top?"
I don't say anything for a few seconds, and a glimmer of hope shines in his eyes.
"No."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Axel!!" I only get a quick warning before Dylan slams open the door to my room.
Don't ask me how my door is still working, I have no idea.
"This one or this one?" He asks, holding up two shirts that looked identical.
"They look the same." I answer, looking up at him from my laying position on my bed.
I wanted to get a quick nap in before going out, but clearly, that won't be the case.
"They aren't the same!! This one is navy and this one is a royal blue." He responds, rolling his eyes as if I were an idiot.
"Those colors are practically the same." I shrug my shoulders.
All I see is two dark blue shirts.
"No they are not!"
Instead of arguing, I decide to just pick one to get him out of my room.
"Fine, navy."
"But I liked the royal blue..." he draws out, looking at what must be the royal blue.
Royal blue my ass.
"Then wear the royal blue."
"You said navy!!!" He says accusingly.
"Dylan, they look the same! Why do you even care anyways?" I ask.
He's already met the three of them before, so there's no reason to suddenly dress to impress.
"Because I'll be walking around with three extremely good looking girls, I need to dress the part!"
"I don't think they will care."
"But I care, and maybe you should to." He eyes my dark green t-shirt and jeans.
"F*ck off." I roll my eyes before turning away from him.
Out of sight of mind...
I hear a loud thump, and I try to hide a snicker knowing that he probably just stomped his foot like a child since I turned away from him.
That's what you get for saying I'm not dressed up enough.
I've been wearing the same combination of t-shirt and jeans for years, and he's never said anything then.
I continue to lay there on my bed for what must have been an hour before it was about time for Dylan and I to walk over to the girls dorm.
After double checking myself in the mirror, I head towards the kitchen where I know Dylan will be trying to find one last minute snack before leaving.
As soon as I get close to the kitchen though, I find myself frowning at all of the sudden company.
To be specific, Morgan and her friends all standing around our kitchen counter.
I have a feeling they just let themselves in, because Bryce wanted to hit the gym before it closed, so he definitely wasn't here.
All I want is to have a fun night with Ally and her friends, and this group of girls was definitely the exact opposite of fun.
There are five of them in total, and they thrive off of talking shit on other people and even each other. That's just not the type of people that I like to be around.
I consider going back to my room and waiting for Dylan there, but I knew it was too late once one of the girls spot me.
"Hi Axel...." She draws out slowly with a flirty smile, causing the rest of them to turn towards me.
"Ladies." I nod my head to greet them and make a beeline towards the fridge. I quickly grab a beer and turn to leave, but of course, that doesn't happen.
"This is our first time seeing you this year." Another one of them says, tilting her head while staring at me.
"Yep." Didn't realize it would happen so soon.
"How was your summer?" She asks, running a hand through her dark hair while puckering her lips in the slightest bit.
Oh that looks familiar, I think this is the one that wouldn't leave me alone last year.
"Good."
"Did you go anywhere fun?" I don't know how she isn't getting the hint that I don't feel like chatting.
"No."
I could tell she was getting annoyed with my one word answers, and that made the corners of my lips rise.
"Are you excited for the season?"
"Yes."
She must have realized that I wasn't going to say more than a one worded answer, so a small silence passes before Dylan makes his way into the kitchen.
"Ladies!!!" His was a lot more welcoming than mine as his arms fly up in the air to hug each one of them.
"I hope we aren't intruding." Morgan says, drinking a mixed drink that must have come from our fridge.
I think we're a bit passed intruding.
"No, no! Any girlfriend to Bryce is a girlfriend of mine-... oh wait that didn't sound right..."
I put a hand on his shoulder as a way to tell him that I'm ready to leave. Thankfully, he gets the hint.
He already knows that I'm not the biggest fan of Morgan and her group of friends, so he isn't surprised that I'm itching to leave.
"Are you guys heading out?" One of the girls asks.
"Yeah." I respond quickly, nudging Dylan towards the door.
The guy could stand here and talk with them for the next hour, and I would rather prevent that from happening.
"Can we come with!!" Another one asks.
"No." That may have sounded harsh, but I don't care. My night would be ruined if they came with.
"Why??" She asks, giving me puppy dog eyes.
Won't work.
"Because we are already meeting people, and we're about to be late." I answer quickly, opening the front door.
"What? You guys can't bring five more?" Morgan asks, putting a hand on her hip.
"No." Absolutely not.
I don't even look back as I slam the front door behind me, making our exit a bit more dramatic.
Once we are outside and away from the house, Dylan turns toward me with a grin on his face.
"Well that was a bit rude." He says, nudging my arm.
I shrug my shoulders, "Oh well."
