I sighed and stood up. Maybe if I went for a quick flight, I could sort out a plan that didn't involve Blaze going R.I.P.
I sighed and unfurled my wings.
Soul perked up.
"Where's ya goin?" He asked with a mouthful of something red-
I don't want to know.
"For a fly," I said.
He held up a finger and swallowed.
"Yum," He said, then added
"Can I come with?"
I rolled my eyes. What was the harm in that?
"Fine," I muttered, took a running start and flew off.
Soul shot past me and blew a raspberry.
I grinned.
"RACE YOU!" I shouted and flew off, with only the wind as my company.
-o0o-
I flew back towards home with Soul beside me, keeping pace.
Neither of us won the 'race;' rather, we just flew as fast as we could until we were exauhsted.
We set down in the clearing where the others were and I walked right past everyone and stared straight into the eyes of the apperantly invisible Angel.
Well, Soul could see her, though.
He snarled and started to draw his scythe, but I stopped him.
"Let me handle this," I said.
He nodded, but not without throwing a glare in Angel's direction.
"What is it now?" I asked.
She smiled.
"You haven't completed the assignment, Lily," She said.
"You know what will happen if you don't."
I gulped.
"But kill him? Doesn't Advanta want him for experiments or..."
Angel shook her head.
"No, not this time."
I felt a tear drip down my cheek.
"Do I really have to kill him?" I whispered.
Angel nodded.
"Yes. Or the rest of your friends will die."
I clenched my fist and turned around to look at Soul, who was frozen in place.
"Can I at least tell him?" I asked and pointed to him.
Angel scratched her head.
"Hmmm... I don't see why not. After all, he can't move but he can hear us."
I froze.
Crap.
"Fine, I will complete the assignment," I muttered.
Angel smiled.
"Goodie! Well then, good luck!"
And with that, she disapeard and the world began again.
Soul stared at me, then back to Blaze, then to me again.
"You can't be serious," He growled.
"I know what it is like to kill someone," He said.
"It haunts you forever."
I shuddered.
"But Frost is under her spell! He will kill them, all of them!" I protested.
Soul face palmed.
"I know, but you can't just switch sides! You're a member of the Pack; they trust you. Believe it or not, they look up to you. You keep everyone together. If you turn traitor-"
"I already have, moron," I muttered.
He glared at me, then continued.
"If you turn traitor, they will lose everything they worked for. You are their leader, not Amber. Sure, she knows how to take charge and was born bossy, but she doesn't know how to lead. You do. You're a born leader, an Alpha."
He grinned.
"You're Lily Erindale. We need you, whether you like it or not."
I felt a tear drip down my cheek, and I threw my arms around him, sobbing pitifully.
"I don't know what to do!" I cried.
"I can't do it... I can't..."
Soul looked shocked that I was hugging him in front of everyone, but he hugged me back anyways.
I heard clapping behind me, and I whipped around to find her.
Dawn of your Death, surrounded by black.
But she wasn't smirking-
She was crying.
