Chapter 28 Stella

"While securing the grounds and informing the people, we learned that there are two pack members missing from the grounds and they've been missing for a few days." Dylan mumbled.

"Who?"

"Bristol and Jazlyn." Hudson said the names like I was supposed to know who they were.

"Who?" I asked again.

Hudson cleared his throat, clearing uncomfortable, before he spoke again.

"The Alphas exes." He spat out.

"Are you trying to tell me that the Alphas exes have been missing the same amount of time that the realm has been under threat because of spies who have access to the castle?" I clarified in a very careful tone.

"Yes, Luna." Hudson and Dylan mumbled.

"And you didn't tell the Alphas?"

"We didn't realize it until after they left." Dylan said,

"Would they have had access to the archives?" I asked.

"Yes, but the security breach was before the Alphas met you and broke up with the girls." Hudson explained.

"But, was it before the kings told their girlfriends that they were actively looking for their mate and would dump them for her?" I cocked an eyebrow.

Hudson and Dylan looked at each other and gulped. That was all the answer I needed.

"Idiots." I grumbled to myself before walking away.

I was just about to mindlink my mates when all hell broke loose. Well that didn't take long.

Reign let out a loud growl in my head and I immediately knew that our pack was under attack. I whipped around and started yelling at the Gammas,

"What is it?"

"Vampires have infiltrated the castle borders." Hudson said, "They must've been here already, hiding."

"Hear your Queen Luna. The vampires are attacking the castle. Everyone to the bunker and safe houses. Any spare guards or warriors to the castle. Those on border duties stand your ground in case there are more legions of vampires. Stay alert!"

I sent out a realm wide mindlink. It was one of the main reasons for the connotation and Luna ceremony. Other than officially naming me as their leader, it also linked me to the pack so I could now mindlink with my mates and the entire realm.

I ran to the living room where the girls, my mother, and sister were huddled together. Several guards had followed me inside.

"Get them to the royal safe house." I told the guards and they started shuffling them from the room.

"Stella, come on!" My mother urged me but I shook my head.

"My people need me, Mother. Go, keep Cece safe." I smiled at her assuringly and forced her to leave.

When they were out of view the smile fell from my face and I led my guards and Gammas on a stampede through the castle.

"Luna, you really should...." Hudson started but I raised my hand,

"Save it." I silenced him.

I felt as members of the realm fell, the pain slicing through me as surely as if I was the one being stabbed in the heart. I pushed through each death, not allowing myself to appear weak as I shouted orders at the staff members inside the castle. The front doors flung open and a dozen or more vampires ran through the grand hall in a blur of motion.
