The room was dim, the yellow overhead light barely being enough to keep the whole room alive. Sat ahead Matt was an officer, fumbling with a pair of grey handcuffs, the same pair of handcuffs that were wrapped tightly around Matt's wrists. The officer was in a sickening blue uniform, the matching hat just lying upon the desk.
"I don't want to ever see you again, Matthew." He said, standing up from the black, leather chair. Matt stood up directly after, nodding his head. "Yes, sir. I will take my life the right way this time."
Matt turned on his heel, beginning to shuffle out of the dimly lit office room. He yanked on the long, golden yellow doorhandle. The glass upon the door was a white, though the shade was turning yellow, slowly.
Matt tredded out into the main building, before swiftly turning right and opening the front doors. The sun glared in his eyes, making him bring up a hand to shield himself from the light. He didn't have a car, or a ride, seeming that he just got out of jail. He walked around the block a bit, until he turned to see a busy street.
It took a while for the light to turn red. It was 9 in the morning, so people were busy running errands, getting to work, and dropping off their children to school or daycare. Matt leaned against the nearby telephone pole, noticing how the light finally flickered and became red. Every car in the lanes stopped.
He was going to begin to walk out into the road, until he noticed the most beautiful woman ever, in his eyes. She had dirty blonde hair, and her eyes were a bland shade of green. She had a piercing in her nose, and she held a cigarette between her two fingers. It was like love at first sight, to Matt.
The woman looked over at Matt, noticing him staring. She smiles and waves, cocking her head to the side. She noticed the light above her turn green, and she began to drive away from Matt, quickly. Matt was distraught, that was the most beautiful woman he's ever seen, where is she going?
Matt clearly wasn't in the best state of mind, as the first thing he did was push himself between cars, and begging for help. People stopped and gave him stares, mainly in disgust. Matt turned to look at a kid, probably 17 or 18. Matt ran up to the pickup truck that the same kid was sitting in, before he opened the door and shoved the kid onto the cement of the road.
Matt slammed his foot onto the gas pedal, attempting to catch up to the woman he just saw. Her car was red
"I don't ever want to see you again, Matt." Matt stood out of the court chair, nodding. "Yes, sir. I will take my life the right way, this time." Matt turned around, and left the office. He stood outside, and leaned on a telephone pole, looking at all the cars pass by. The red lights flicker on, and the cars in the lanes stop. Matt looks over an sees and notices a woman driving. She looks over at him, and Matt believes he experienced love at first sight. "Oh my god.." Matt says under his breath, and goes to open a car door, pushing the person out of it. Once the light turns green, he begins to chase the woman. "PULL OVER, I THINK I'M IN LOVE!" He screams out to the woman, and she drives off. Matt drives himself home with the car, and rethinks his life for a few days.
Two days later, he goes to his local grocery store as he's run out of things to eat. He's placing the groceries into the trunk of his car when he notices the same woman, two lanes away from the car. He runs up to her, jumping into her arms. She pushes him away, and Matt pulls in for a kiss. The woman pulls out a can of mace, and sprays his eyes with the pepper spray. Matt holds his hands up to his eyes, and another man knocks him out. "Are you okay, miss? My names Adam, what's going on?" The woman stands closer to Adam, breathing heavily. "My name?" The woman says, picking up her pepper spray from the floor. "It's Cindy. thank you so much. I'm just..so scared! This man has been following me around for days now, I saw him at the court a few days ago, and he chased me with a car. Just now, I was getting groceries and.. you saw everything." Adam scoffed at Matt, and kicked his unconscious body. "Hey, I know this is an awful time," Adam said, looking into Cindy's icy blue eyes. "But, could I get your number?" Cindy looked at her savior, and nodded. They trade numbers, and Cindy promises to drive away after that. Though, Cindy waits for Matt to wake up.
When Matt arises from being unconscious, he looks up at Cindy. He looked at her with eyes full of love, and smiled, standing from the floor. "You look so beautiful." Cindy told Matt a quick thank you. "I know that I just sprayed pepper spray into your eyes, but can I get your number?" Matt's lips broke into a smile and he gave her his number, hugging her. "This is the best day of my life. Thank you so much" Cindy shooed him away, and stepped into her red car, driving away as she texted Adam and Matt.
