Interlude

"We're being intimate like you two are!" Amethyst exclaimed. Y/n covered their face, Pearl turned away with a teal hue on her cheeks.

"Can you all just... go back to the temple now?" Y/n sheepishly asked. "You too, Amethyst. It was fun hanging with you though."

"When the time comes..."

"So you see, class, the advanced essay format is kind of like a human, there's the head, body, and conclusion..." The H/c haired teenager's eyes started to flicker away, they themself slipping away into sleep.

Sadie passed Y/n a note which told them to look at the sky. The human rubbed their eyes and looked out of the window intensely. They indeed saw a green dot coming towards Beach City ever so slowly.

"Lapis..."

"Hey, Mr. Warren, may I use the bathroom?" They asked cunningly, not planning to come back. The H/c haired teenager didn't hear his answer but left anyway.

"Guys! I'm here, sorry I took so long!" They saw Opal firing many light arrows at the green pointing hand to no avail. When Opal saw the two she promptly defused. "Y/n! You're supposed to be gone, where are your parents?" Pearl asked, clearly flustered.

"Steven!" Garnet yelled.

"You both came back!" Amethyst said.

"Go! Get out of here!" Pearl panicked.

"It's too late!" Garnet stated. "Just stay behind us." The green hand descended, finally landing on the beach and forming a palm. A bubble emerged from its palm and flew down to its forefinger. The bubble disintegrated and revealed three gems.

"That's them alright. They're the ones who keep breaking my machines." Peridot said.

"This is it?" A mysterious, tall gem glared down at them.

"Jasper! They keep interfering with my work!" Peridot exclaimed.

"Jasper, that's your name? I'll remember it when the crystal gems clobber you!" Y/n yelled, getting a slight chuckle out of Amethyst.

"What a joke... get over here!" The orange gem turned around and yelled. Lapis came from behind her.

"Lapis!" Steven and Y/n exclaimed in unison.

"This is their base?" She asked the cobalt woman.

"Yes..." She answered.

"Earth's closed, you two can give us Lapis and leave!"

"Step off!" Amethyst added.

Peridot, Jasper, and Lapis jumped down onto the beach. Y/n instinctively materialized a sword.

"Is that supposed to be intimidating? Peridot, blast them with the ship."

"Fine." She drew a circle on a finger screen and tapped it, the green ship charging energy at its fingertip.

"You two, run!" Garnet looked at Y/n and Steven.

"No!" Y/n yelled back.

"I won't let you risk your life!" Garnet continued.

"This is my home, you're all my family!" Steven said.

"Firing." Peridot muttered.

"I'm a crystal gem too!" Steven leapt at the beam and summoned a giant rose shield that protected everyone. Steven was left exhausted and collapsed.

"That shield! That symbol!" Jasper exclaimed. "You have the power of Rose Quartz!"

"Now do you believe I needed an escort?" Peridot asked.

"Fire a barrage! Widespread!" Jasper exclaimed, the ship cutting a line through the beach.

My body pulled me back without a thought. I was out of ear shot, but then I saw Garnet and Jasper clash... until she used something on Garnet and poofed her. And then she... knocked out Steven! I have to fight her, maybe hold out long enough for Garnet to reform!

(Y/n pov over)

Pearl and Amethyst charged Jasper. Peridot fired at Pearl which caught her by surprise and poofed her. It even caught Amethyst, she wasn't looking as Jasper was about to headbutt her.

"AMETHYST!"

The human leapt onto Amethyst to get both of them out of the way.

Jasper was shocked but would be even more surprised when the two, well, one would get up quickly. On the contrary, Lapis became hopeful.

"Another disgusting fusion? I should- I WILL shatter you." The orange gem said with venom.

"Nuh-uh!" The fusion stood tall. She had long, dark-violet hair and two sets of eyes, as well as two arms. She summoned Amethyst's whip and upgraded it by attaching large spiked balls at the ends.

"Give up!" Jasper yelled; The gem curled into a ball and spin dashed into the fusion. She caught her but failed to notice the gem destabilizer in her open hand.

"Ack-!" Were the fusions last words.
