Oh, Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe, help us cried the Devtas,

From the unjust rule and evil doings of the demonic clan of the Asur king,

Hearing the protest from the deities, Brahma collected numerous sacrificial objects,

Proceeded to perform a grand sacrifice with Saptarishis and devtas in the Himalayas.

"The 'being' I have created is Asi. It shall effect the destruction of the enemies of the gods and restore Dharma, " declared Lord Brahma.

A dreadful creature sprang from the sacrificial fires scattering flames all around,

As though a moon had arisen amid the stars, coloured like a deep-blue lotus,

Teeth sharp and terrible, stomach lean and skinny and stature tall and slim.

Of unimaginable power making the earth shake and creating turmoils in the oceans,

The forceful winds started howling all around, the trees started falling and being torn apart, the meteors started blazing through the skies,

Seeing this Devi Adiparashakti balanced the destructible power of Asi with five elements of nature.

The creature soon assumed the form of a blazing sharp-edged sword, glowing like flames, surrounded by five powerful rings.

This sword was Asi, the primordial weapon created by the deities for the destruction of evil,

The personification and the primordial energy behind all weapons ever created or existed,

Krittika was its constellation, Agni was its deity, Rohini was its Gotra, Rudra, its high preceptor,

Whoever holds this weapon obtains sure victory and will have absolute power over any weapon,

And Even Yama's noose of death will fear it.

A history forgotten, a story unfinished, a wait that lasted for too long,

But a curse still alive...

The place was dark. An old flickering bulb barely illuminated the area. Swathed in a pool of blood, she was taking deep heavy breaths. Faint footsteps surrounded her and the noise of a train passing by was audible.

He felt a sudden heaviness in his chest when he looked at her eyes... Half-open, tired eyes, full of sadness and regret yet desperately searching for the slightest ray of hope.

Soon her struggle was over. Those heavy breaths had turned silent. That silence made him feel a pain beyond imagination.

And that was the first time he saw her.

HE SAW HER DIE.

HE SAW HER DIE
