Chynea PoV: Blood for the Blood God (Sic semper tyrannis) Part 1

Start from the beginning

In front of me, the 'great leader' scoffed, scorn clear in his voice. "So what are you gonna do now hmm, Subject DM.17227? Are you gonna kill me? Tear me apart limb from limb!? You can't!! YOU CAN'T KILL ME! NONE OF YOU CAN!"

I frowned as he turned his attention towards the others, standing and pushing past me. "YOU ARE ALL NOTHING WITHOUT ME!! I CREATED YOU FROM THE WEAKLINGS YOU WERE!! YOU ALL OWE ME!"

A laugh escapes my lips, humourless and dry as I place my sword on his neck from behind. "You see Pompiás, that's where you're wrong." I smiled as I could feel his neck turn to look back at me. I didn't need to see the fear in his eyes. "Yes, you 'created' our powers, but you did not create our personalities, our loves, our hates, our passions. We owe you nothing." He cackled, insanity plain in his voice. It was a surprise that none of his subordinates hadn't rebelled themselves. "You can't kill me! Without me, all of your so-called 'justice' will be for nothing! If I fall, so do you!"

Using the pommel of my sword, I strike Pompiás in the head, knocking him unconscious. "We shall see about that." Turning to the rest of the Khupashai, I couldn't help the small quirk of my mouth. "We did it, thank you everyone for everything, it wouldn't be possible without you." my smile grew, a bit more ruefully. "I would propose a group hug but I don't think that's a good idea, considering the state of our clothes." Heidi scoffed, "As if that would stop us." As I feel my friends arms, fur and wings surround me I couldn't help but smile. I had found a new family after so many years alone. At that moment I vowed that I would never let any more harm come to them ever again.

After a few moments of serenity, we pulled back, the smell of blood and gore getting a bit too strong. Chuckling softly I smiled, knowing that they were as well. "Well, I think we should get changed and then we can work on getting everyone else free."

Agreeing to meet up at the zenith, we all moved on our way. Still watchful for any guards or scientists that might be lying in wait. Those were swiftly dealt with, given no mercy.

Unfortunately, as I was travelling back to my cell to find something to help clean me up, I noticed that I wasn't the only one showing 'no mercy'. As I passed through a hallway, growls could be heard in one of the cells. Extending my senses, I discovered that there was more than just a 'Subject' inside. Finding the door, I lightly pushed against it. It wasn't locked. With a loud clang that probably reverberated through the cell, I moved in, sword drawn and ready and before the guard could react, his head was off his shoulders. Turning to the Subject I smiled. "I thought this cell was familiar, nice to meet you again. Sorry our rebellion caused that." I flicked my sword in the general direction of the body. Panting slightly, the stranger replied. "Not at all, I'm glad that someone finally made an ...effective stand."

I chuckled remembering the failed rebellion many weeks prior.

"They were idiots."

"Hmm... Now, I must ask your pardon for this but what is your name? And what species are you? You must be rather strong if a guard was trying to get you."

Another chuckle. "I am not particularly strong. Of species, I am a leopard born, and name ... I am called Subject CM. 24423."

Smiling slightly, I spoke again. "Name, not what you were called by them. What is your birth name?"

"Birth name... I... I think it was Perish."

"Well Perish, it is nice to meet you, I am Chynea. I would offer you my hand but I'm pretty sure there is blood on it so I won't dirty you. Umm I was wondering, I am running a bit late on time now, do you know a place where I could wash up? And maybe change my gown as well?"
