They both suddenly ran down the stairs. Trying to get to the door first, Akabane sped past Akahana and opened the door.

"Pa!"

He ran up to the man and gave him a large bear hug, followed by Akahana.

"Ga!? Damn it, Aoi, get the kids off me! ... Also yes, Pa's back."

"Kids, get off him."

"Fine fine." They both said in unison, breaking the hug.

"Damn Airport was packed as hell. It took about 4 hours from when I landed here to get all the way to the house and traffic made it worse! God bless New York..." Now even the father looks too similar to my own. What is going on...

"I feel you pa. I can't drive through but that must sucks. I bet it won't happen again though!" Akahana reassured, nodding her head repeatedly.

"That's nice, Honbun." He patted her head before looking towards Akabane.

"It's been some time, old man." Akabane stated.

"Don't call your own dad old! ... I just had some back pain for a while... Ah forget it. Get over here, little me!"

"Eh? What? W-wait! N-"

It was too late, Shinjiro's father already grabbed hold of Akabane and started spinning him around the air.

"Ay ay! Put me down before you break your own back!"

"If that happens, I'll break your back but slamming you on the ground, little me."

"Hey hey! That's illegal! And don't call me 'little me'! Akahan', do something!"

Akahana smugly looked at her and crossed her arms, shaking her head.

"Can't do that, you messed up."

"How!?"

"Pa's theoretically correct since you're from his genes, or well his genes are passed onto you. Besides, you resemble a lot like Pa."

"I don't need your intelligence, knowledge or analytical skills! I need your help!"

"I helped you with new information!" She winked.

"Agh! You're useless!" The father laughed before putting Akabane down on the ground.

"Pa, you don't usually visit besides, like, the holidays or important days. What's up?"

The father looked concernly at Akabane, then Akahana and ultimately at Aoi.

"Go tell them, Hideaki."

"Well... you see." He started. "Akabane... you're going with me."

"Eh?"

"You're going with me to Japan."

"Ha?! Really?! Cough... I mean. Splendid, though what for?"

"You're going to a new... you're going to be working with us in the facility."

"Ah... oh." Akabane tensed up a bit as he heard that.

"Don't worry, you'll be with me so you're fine! Besides, you knew this a couple months prior."

"No no, I know. It's just that... you think I'm ready?" Hideaki kneeled in front of Akabane, who was staring at the floor. "Hey, I know you're young, so it's going to be a new and harsh experience, but it's for your future. They say a lot of potential in you especially when you completed that test. Me and your mother decided that instead of being homeschooled, that I'll be taking you to the facility."

"I see... So... when do I go?"

"Preferably tomorrow night. We can get the bags ready by tomorrow afternoon. Oh, don't worry. Your mother and sister will be able to visit you. Besides, soon enough, your sister will join you."

Hideaki stood up and patted Akabane's head. Man, he really likes head patting.

"I already have our personal driver and pilot waiting. Well, the driver's at the hotel close to our house currently. I'll tell them to pick us up at a certain time, alright?"

"Right..."

Hideaki turned to Aoi, went to her and gave a kiss on her cheek.

"Hey flower."

"Hello, Hide. Since you're staying her for the night and pratically tomorrow, I'll go make some dinner since it's 6 PM. I don't want my almost 3-year-old kids to be wailing around now, would we?"

THEY'RE 2 YEARS FUCKING OLD!??!

"Mommy, I'm hungry now..."

Eh, they still have some characteristics of said 2-year-old... NO NO, STILL!

"I'll go take a nice, warm shower now. I'm tired as hell..."

"Work, huh?"

Aoi begins walking to the kitchen as Hideaki walks up the stairs.

"Wait, pa!"

Before Hideaki makes a turn to go to the bathroom, he turns around to see Akabane, along with Akahana, at the bottom of the staircase.

"Um, I don't want to waste your time or anything... but what's the facility called? I never asked about it."

Hideaki did an hearty laugh, one that sounded innocent yet depressing at the same time. "There's no name for it yet, but I'll tell you what it is, it's- cough!"

He faced away from them and coughed a couple of times before patting his chest again. "Damn saliva got to me..."

He sighed before stating two words.

"Kijima's Facility."

After that was uttered, my vision becomes blurry, eventually turning white yet again.

And after that-

"Huh!?"

I thought I woken up but apparently, I was in another. location.

However, this location was something I definitely did not expect out of all places. So, we're taking a trip from Shinjiro's memories to mine now?

"... My school, huh?"

But the Protagonist's past. Yes, the Protagonist that yet does not have its name mentioned.

But's it's only a memory of said past, so be aware of that.
