Although his words weren’t well thought out, Yu Dong was still pleased with Xia Feng’s proposal.

Yu Dong wasn’t really a young girl in her twenties. She was someone who was used to do things alone, someone who was independent and a strong personality. Yu Dong had the mature and gentle soul of a 30-year-old woman.

“There’s a lot of places I want to go to, but there’s only one place I will always want to come back to.” Because they were walking quite close to each other, Yu Dong needed to look up to lock eyes with Xia Feng.

The mischevious sunshine once again traveled past the leaves and fell on Yu Dong’s face, and the slight breeze lifted her hair, making Xia Feng’s previously calm heart tremble.

Xia Feng thought that he understood what Yu Dong was trying to say and their interlocked fingers tightened together, like they could never be separated.

Their journey was a little far, but soon the two arrived at the flower market. The market was filled with a wide variety of plants, making Yu Dong excited.

Yu Dong happily looked around her: On the west was some bright sunflowers, the east held some bamboo; she even saw some hydrangeas peeking through, it was as if all the flowers bloomed this spring.

“Ah, there’s even some Japanese creepers over there.” Yu Dong cried out, pointing towards a creeper.

“If we planted some back home, our landlord’s going to come for us.” Xia Feng thought about the possibility of planting creepers in their balcony and couldn’t help flinching.

“I was just saying.” Yu Dong laughed. “When I was a junior in high school, there was these ivy growing in the back of my school. I never knew the name of the ivy, but found out afterward when I read some article. I had always wanted to plant Japanese creepers in my house and wait until summer for it to climb all over the wall.”

“But at that time, there were more snakes than ants in our village. My mother said that there could be snakes hidden in the creepers and I ended up becoming too afraid to plant some.” Yu Dong said, her head tilted to one side.

“Creepers are unlikely to grow in residential areas. When we get older and move to the suburbs, we can buy a house with a yard and plant some.” Xia Feng said.

“When we get old?” Yu Dong blinked, then asked, “We haven’t even had our wedding yet but why do I feel like an old wife already? I guess you’re an even older husband now?”

“What nonsense are you spouting?” Xia Feng knocked on Yu Dong’s head.

“Why hit me,” Yu Dong crouched with her hands on her head, “Don’t you want to grow old with me?”

A florist nearby looked at the pair with a kind smile. Xia Feng noticed and was somewhat embarrassed as he dragged Yu Dong along.

Yu Dong didn’t feel embarrassed as they continued to browse the florist’s stand, instead sticking out her tongue towards Xia Feng.

“Hehe…what old wife, all I see is a newly married couple.” The florist laughed. “An old husband and wife would be like my wife and I. We squabble and criticize each other constantly, you youngsters are too lovey-dovey.”

“Cough…boss, please ring these up.” As someone with an introverted personality, Xia Feng doesn’t usually do public displays of affection.

The florist knew that they were embarrassed, so he happily settled their bill and handed Yu Dong a small potted plant containing two beautiful red sunflowers.

Because they bought a lot of plants, Yu Dong intended to look for some wooden shelves online to decorate the balcony. Therefore, most of the plants they bought would be delivered instead, the two people only taking back the pot of sunflowers today.
