(I) 4 - All Gonna Be Voiceless

Start from the beginning

She suddenly yawned as she felt sleepy before she scratched her right arm

She guess that's what happens if you wake up 3 in the morning and then not go back to sleep

Her usual waking hour is either 4 or 5, so 3 is still quite early even for her

Good thing today is Sunday, so there's no school for her to go to...

If only she can just skip school entirely... All she studies is basic math like addition and the like and then reading and writing

But she was literally in grade 10 in her first life. Heck, graduated from it even as one of the top of her class, is there even a point in school anymore for her?

But unfortunately, she guessed that it was necessary for papers and documents and stuff, so she'll have to go with the flow for now...

Well, she's been doing that for the past 2 years now, what's a bit more?

Ah, and she still needs to up her game in Francais

Although... She still can't wrap her mind around the French grading system... 20 is the highest grade one could get? 10 barely passing?

That essentially translates to 50% as the passing grade, right? Damn French are lucky ones... Back in the Philippines, 75% is the passing grade

But once a person gets anything below 80%... Then be worried for that subject

Personally, Kiara has never gotten a single grade that went below 80, and she's not planning to do that anytime soon... But her grade in Francais is literally teetering in the lower 16... Meaning, lower 80%...

She does not like that at all, not at all, but she's also... Eh, it could drop for all I care cause it's also pretty far away from the failing grade

Kiara drank coffee from her mug as she clicked a few things in her phone and a few things caught her attention, like "Le Conseil de sécurité de l'ONU demande un cessez-le-feu immédiat dans les territoires palestiniens"

Although... What the heck is ONU? Backwards Uno?

All jokes aside, what does it mean? She might be able to discern "Conseil de sécurité" as Security council, but she's not fluent in French, so other things like "ONU" or "cessez-le-feu" has gone completely over her head

As Kiara is trying to discern what those words mean, someone entered the living room and Kiara lazily looked at the direction of the door even though she already knew who it was based on the frequency, tone, and the... Intensity? Oh well, loudness of the footsteps

But instincts is something you usually wouldn't be able to ignore

Kiara looked to her side to see a familiar blond hair and red eyes, Albert

"How many times do I have to tell you that you shouldn't drink coffee?" Albert asked in French

Yeah... Living in France for 2 years while actively studying the language would make you quite knowledgeable in the language, not fluent like she had said earlier, but knowledgeable enough.. Lower 16... Lower 16...

'But... Shouldn't you be too far away to know I'm drinking coffee? Well, I guess it's through smell, but eh.' Kiara thought to herself

"The coffee isn't..." But as Kiara is formulating her reply, before she forgot a word as her mind blanks up... She huffed in annoyance before she decided to just continue in English "The coffee isn't doing anything bad."

'And besides, I'm already drinking it, it would be a waste not to finish it.' Kiara thought to herself before she scratched her right arm

Now you might be wondering, if Albert is against Kiara drinking coffee, then why didn't he stop her from making it in the first place?
