"Sup Mirage?" Katlyn sat on the seat across Mirage and started eating her favourite snack, chicken pie.

"I'm fine, Kat, but I don't think you are. Why do you keep eating that all the time-"

"Wrong. I eat it most of the time."

"She's right though," Liana chuckled, cutting a piece of fish fillet before placing it into her mouth with a spoon.

"If you say so. By the way, I'd like you to meet two new students I had to show around yesterday." Mirage said as she saw Seclinette and Persperphone coming back to their places.

"Oh hey, you must be the newcomers!" Liana stood up and shook Seclinette and Persperphone's hands vigorously, making them dumbfounded.

"Katlyn and Liana, meet Seclinette and Persperphone. Seclinette and Persperphone, meet Katlyn and Liana," Mirage introduced.

"Ooh Seclinette! I heard she won the annual tournament recently!" Liana exclaimed.

"Want to battle me with my daggers?" Katlyn asked.

"Um... Sure I guess," Seclinette said, adjusting her hat with one hand as she sat.

"Enough talking now, they haven't finished their food yet!" Mirage interrupted. "It's only twenty minutes to assembly!"

"Oh right!" Seclinette and Persperphone quickly gobbled their food.

"Haha, look how synchronised they are right now," Katlyn, remarked, nearly making Seclinette and Persperphone spit out their food.

"Good morning students. Today we have some good news for you all."

All the students started murmuring as they wondered what it was.

Mrs. Ashlina held her hand up to gain attention before continuing, "This month, we've been preparing ourselves at the Golden Phoenix Stadium near our school for our school tournament coming soon in about twenty days. Those who want to participate can go to the assembly hall and sign up!"

Everyone started cheering and immediately talked about the tournament.

"What's this tournament about?" Persperphone asked in doubt.

"I heard this is the first time the school is having a special tournament." Seclinette added.

"That's right, this is the first time we ever had a big tournament," Mirage answered," and plus, this is really special. It was told that pupils from any combat class can enter and battle one another."

"Great!" Katlyn exclaimed, snatching Seclinette's hand and said,"Maybe we can compare our skills in the tounament and see who's the superior one, eh?"

"Haha, right," Seclinette slowly pulled her hand away , smiling awkwardly.

"Don't forget the monochrome archer girls," Liana reminded.

Seclinette and Persperphone smiled towards each other. This was one tournament they could not wait.

"Ah, so you decided to join the tournament?" Mr. Strongwill asked.

"Yea, we decided to join the tournament. Persperphone and I haven't been fighting each other lately." Seclinette said, swinging her sword and practicing momentum.

"True. Since the day when we were in the annual tournament, we haven't been letting our weapons touch each other's blades." Persperphone agreed, spinning her scythe with both hands.

"Alright kids, you've been training here for too long." Mr. Strongwill shooed the girls, "Go on to another place where you can fight all you want. And don't forget my teachings: Keep your stamina at a good level!"

Seclinette and Persperphone ran to an area where it was wide with grass on the ground, like a field.

"Pers, this should be suitable right?" Seclinette asked, getting serious and ready in her fighting stance.

"Haha, you bet," Persperphone stoop low, getting ready to charge.

Both of them charged and started clashing their blades together before retreating and tackling again. Within a few seconds, Seclinette retreated her sword and ran to the other side before charging again. Persperphone tried to predict Seclinette's moves and also dashed towards her, her scythe's blade close to the ground and ready to sweep up, but Seclinette dodged it nicely and elbowed Persperphone's back, causing Persperphone to stumble. Seclinette was about to raise her sword and swipe it towards Persperphone when she held up her scythe and blocked Seclinette's move.

"I say, you still got the moves Persperphone," Seclinette smiled, almost similiar to that of a smirk before jumping back twice, retreating so that Persperphone could stand.

"You too, Sec. Now watch!" Persperphone stood up and half-squatted before jumping up and spinning her scythe at her right, she dashed towards Seclinette with a battle cry.

Seeing the deadly spinning scythe, Seclinette used her sword to block the sharp blades and dodged by going to the left of Persperphone, before diving for her legs and using her sword to make Persperphone stumble again. But this time Persperphone quickly turned and her scythe started spinning towards Seclinette, its handle still intact on her hands and spinning like a fan.

"Whoa!" Seclinette, still on the ground in a lying position, rolled further away, preventing her from being cut like meat on a chopping board.

"Heh, to think you can dodge my moves!" Persperphone huffed, a little tired from the mini battle butstill on her feet.

"I'm still fine and uncut, Pers." Seclinette stood up, brushing away the dirt gained from rolling on the ground.

"You pig, hahah!" Persperphone suddenly joked, remembering Seclinette rolling on the ground.

"No, I'm not a pig, you windmill!" Seclinette argued, thinking of Persperphobe and her spinning scythe.

"Bleh!" Persperphone stuck out her tongue and was about to continue fighting when a voice boomed.

"Hey kid, get out of my fighting area!"
