Nightmare end

I bolt awake and when my vision clears I find myself in a hospital bed with Cana on one side and Rowan on the other both watching me carefully, concern and horror in their eyes. I bolt towards him not caring about the pain in my leg cause the mental pain was much worse. Wrapping my arms and legs around him I squeeze him tightly and he starts spluttering.

"Darling... Can't... Breathe" he wheezes out and I loosen my grip slightly.

I grip him tightly and we stay like that for a few minutes, just calming my rapid heartbeat and breathing before I notice Cana stood awkwardly nearby with a look of utter disgust on her face.

"Cana?" I whisper quietly and her head snaps to me, hearing the pain in my voice I suppose.

"Mum, it's okay. He's not going to get his hands on you, not while I'm still standing" she growls lowly.

I frown in confusion before I realise what she did. I gag at the thought of her seeing my nightmare, what he did to me and I feel the bile rise up my throat. I abruptly push Rowan away and bolt into the toilet, leaning over it and spewing my guts up. Rowan holds my hair out of the way and rubs my back while Cana brings me a glass of water. I spit out the last of the vomit and stand up straight leaning against the wall, taking the glass from Cana I take a sip, swish it around my mouth before spitting it out in the loo and flushing the contents away.

I walk out of the bathroom and lean on the handrail of the bed trying to calm myself, tears fall down my face and a sob threatens to break through. I feel Rowans presence behind me and turn to look at him and Cana, who look back in pity and sympathy.

"Y-you saw?" I voice lowly, looking between them, on the verge of more tears falling.

"We did" Cana answers and I breathe in deeply. I feel like I'm going to hurl again.

"I'm so-" I go to apologise but I'm cut off by two aggressive growls and I widen my eyes and flinch but I stop myself from cowering.

"Do not apologise, it was a nightmare. You could not help it. It was not your fault and you have nothing to apologise for" Rowan admonishes sternly but he wraps me in his arms to comfort me.

"I know. I just can't believe you watched it," I say softly. "Cana, baby, come here"

Rowan let me go so I can bring Cana into a hug and I squeeze her tightly but not so tight she can't breathe.

"You shouldn't have gone looking" I reprimand but she knows I'm not angry with her.

"I know, I just wanted to know what was happening, I can't believe you had a nightmare like that" Cana whispers pulling me closer.

I sigh deeply before pulling away and that's when I'm reminded of my leg and I grit my teeth in pain as I fall back into a chair behind me.

"Crimson, what's the quo?" I ask her wanting to talk with her anyways.

"Rowan realigned it and healed the outer rim last night. I've been working on it ever since but we both took a toll from that fight and I was exhausted so I haven't healed it as quick as I usually would. It's now got a bit more to go until the bone is completely fused together and then it will become less tender" she replies monotonously.

"You alright?" I ask knowing she also was having the same nightmare.

"Yeah, just wish we would stop having these nightmares. You should go check on Sapphire" she says growling slightly.

Tuning back to the others I notice Rowan has his hand around my leg and is helping finish the healing.

"I'm getting a sense of déjà vu" I chuckle and he grins at me.
