The end.

"Hi" I whisper back.

"You know what I realized when I was walking here" He says as he sits at the foot of the hospital bed.

"What?" I whisper.

"We don't have any baby names picked out" He chuckles.

"Oh actually I was thinking about that too and I really like the name Kian" I smile.

He smiles back.

"I love it."

{ 11 Months later}

I walked downstairs after my shower to see Bryce and Jacob sitting on the couch. Kian was sitting on Bryces lap and Bryce had his hands on Kians sides holding him steady.

I walked over and sat next to Jacob.

I watched as Bryce made faces and Kian laughed harder each time. I smiled to myself from the sound.

Jacob was beaming as he watched. I find it so cute how Jacob is always smiling at Kian no matter what he's doing. I swear he could be crying his heart out and Jacob is still smiling lightly at him.

Eventually Harper called Bryce over and Bryce sighed as he handed Kian over to Jacob.

He walked away towards Harpers room leaving just the three of us alone.

Kian looked up at Jacob and immediately smiled.

"Hi" Jacob smiled down at him.

And then Kian did something so unexpected...

"Hi" He struggled to say the word but he still managed to get it out.

My jaw dropped and Jacobs eyes widened..

"Did he just.." I began "Did he just say hi?" I questioned.

I was completely taken aback..

"I... Yes?" Jacob said clearly just as confused.

Kian looked at me and then back at Jacob and just giggled.

As if he didn't just complete a huge milestone.

I smiled and look at Jacob who was also smiling now..

"Holy shit" He beamed.

I lightly hit his arm.

"Don't cuss in front of him he's gonna start saying bad words because of you!" I warn.

He laughs and shakes his head.

{5 years later}

It's Kian's first day of kindergarten and honestly I think i'm more nervous than he is.

I finished getting him dressed and ready and as we were heading out the door to go to his new school Bryce and Harper flew through the door.

"No way we're missing this" Bryce says.

We don't live together anymore but they knew it was Kian's first day so they spent the night here with us.
