In the distance, I could make out the figures of my friends—Ehann, Oliver, and Alistair—waiting for us at the lake's edge. Oliver, in his usual exuberance, waved his hand mid-air, attempting to catch our attention amidst the serene ambiance.
The surroundings exuded an almost magical allure, with lush foliage framing the crystal-clear lake, creating a picturesque view that seemed plucked from the pages of a fantastical tale.
"So that's why they had us bring those decorations. They're actually building a treehouse. It's almost finished." I exclaimed with a spark of realization.
The pieces started coming together as I observed the materials we were asked to bring turning into the structure of a magical treehouse, the enchanting project nearing its completion.
"This tree has its own spirit. I don't know how it happened; Ehann just mentioned it to us. It seems like a habit for him to speak to himself, then suddenly it answered, so that's how he found out it can speak." he said seriously.
"And then?" Morgan curiously asked.
"You say its name, and it will appear. You command that you're going up, and it'll return one of its branches for you to climb on, then it will take you up." Oliver explained.
"What's its name?" I inquired.
"Burikat."
"WHAT?!" the three of us exclaimed simultaneously.
"It's Buricut, B-U-R-I-C-U-T. You say, 'Buricut appear!' and your hands must be placed against the tree. Try it together, all at once." Oliver said.
Although hesitant, we followed his instructions.
"BURICUT APPEAR!" we shouted while our palms were against the tree.
Nothing happened except for a burst of laughter from Oliver behind us.
A door will appear. May staircase doon pataas." sabi niya.
