and i have to say, at times rory can behave as though i don't exist. things are mostly fine when it's only the two of us, but when she's surrounded by others, it's like the thought of me doesn't even pass through her mind.
upon hearing the sound of an "ahem" i jerk upwards, finding my coworker marcus who glares at me with a serving tray in his hands.
"can you please stop writing in your little diary like a teenage girl from an early 2000s romcom and get back to work" he frowns.
i let out a chuckle, shoving the journal in my tote bag before taking the tray from his grip.
as i start walking, he stops me with a grip on my shoulder "and uhm... could you ask sadie if she's single?"
i raise my brows with an amused chuckle before nodding a "sure" and walking towards the familiar faces.
rory's eyes light up upon beholding everything that was placed down on the table. she immediately reaches for her phone, snapping a picture of the sight for her instagram.
sadie lets out a chuckle at the gesture. she notices the blueberry cheesecake and sends a smile my way. "good taste"
"why thank you, kind sir" i grin back at her, earning a short laugh.
"oh, by the way, im sorry for this but my weird friend over there wants to know if you're seeing anyone" i direct sadies gaze towards marcus, who was staring at her until she glances at him, making him swiftly avert his gaze.
sadie lets out a gentle chuckle before beaming a smile in his direction, speaking at a volume loud enough for him to hear "no, i'm not seeing anyone at the moment"
he smiles from a distance as i present him with a thumbs up, before he quickly retreats into the kitchen.
"hey, you should sit down with us faye" rory remarks with a mouthful of cinnamon roll.
i'm a bit taken back by her words, she actually wants to include me?
"oh! well uhm, i can't right now" i shift my focus down at my hands.
upon seeing the disappointment on rorys face, i add "well, uhm, maybe i can try asking for an early leave after you're both done eating... so we can go someplace else"
rorys lips form into a smile, same with sadie.
"its fine, you don't have to do that. i wouldn't wanna be a bother" sadie states.
"no no, its okay, really" i nod, shooting her a reassuring smile "i would get a much needed break from work"
sadies strawberry lips curl into a smile "if you say so, faye"

walking through the streets normally plays out as a brief and easy process for any civilian. going from one place to the other in our own personal space, free of any interruptions.
however, that isn't the scenario when you're alongside an individual such as sadie sink.
the famous redhead, despite her best efforts at not being recognised, is seized for photograph opportunities by fans at least 10 times. many of which rory and i take for them.
it doesn't seem to bother her, and it doesn't bother me a considerable amount either. it was just a new experience for me, that extent of privacy deprivation.
this comes to show how much admiration people hold for her, to the point where anyone else who may be around her become nonexistent factors.

"faye, this would look amazing on you!" sadie points to a toddler's bright pink dress, which had fairy wings of the same colour affixed on it's back.
i shoot her a momentary glare before smacking her with the article of clothing that i had pulled out from a rack, receiving critical looks from a few staff members.
"this is all so ugly" rory groans "we should've gone to a different store"
a nearby worker overhears her words and provides a scoff towards us "well, i'm sorry that it's no chanel"
after delivering the snarky remark, the individual walks away leaving rory to gasp before bursting into laughter.
"we should definitely leave this place before we get jumped by the staff"
