But that was neither here nor there because his boyfriend was now in danger of contracting hypothermia. His face was getting paler by the second, and his lips were starting to turn blue. Jung Kook had to get him somewhere warm, get him out of his wet clothes and into something dry.

Without sparing another glance at the group behind him, Jung Kook had laced his fingers gently with Jin's and pulled him swiftly towards the school gates, stopping briefly to pick up their discarded bags and jackets. There was no reason for either of them to remain at the school now that the graduation ceremony was over because neither had any family members waiting to take pictures with them.

Jung Kook was an orphan who lost his parents at the start of his middle school years. He only had his older cousin Yoon Gi left, and the man had not been able to attend Jung Kook's graduation because he was on his way back from a business trip. But Yoon Gi had promised that he would be at Jung Kook's party later that evening.

As for Jin, his parents never came to the school. Instead they spoke to Jin's teacher on the phone whenever there was a need to but even this was not frequent because Jin was a good student overall. So it was no surprise that no one came to watch Jin graduate even though he had been awarded the highest distinction the school had ever given.

But Jin didn't mind because he had Jung Kook. And Jung Kook didn't mind because he had Jin. Since the first day that they started dating, being with each other was more than enough. Perhaps that was the reason why Jung Kook's friends disliked Jin so much - because Jung Kook spent all of his free time with Jin when he used to hang out with them in the past.

Jung Kook had flagged down the first taxi that he saw coming down the road. Even though his apartment was only about fifteen minutes away on foot, he didn't want to put his boyfriend through the torture of walking in the brisk February air after getting soaked. He didn't want his beloved falling ill before tonight's party because he had a big surprise planned for him.

As soon as he got Jin situated beside him in the back of the taxi, Jung Kook had immediately wrapped both their jackets around Jin. He then began rubbing his boyfriend's cold hands, blowing on them in an effort to keep his circulation going.

"I'm sss... sssoo... so c... cc... cold," Jin said through chattering teeth.

"I know, baby. I know. As soon as we get to my place, I'll run you a warm bath. Or would you prefer a hot shower?" Jung Kook asked.

"Shh... shower. Hot shower," Jin replied. "I... I don...I don't think I can wa... wait for... for the tub to... to fill."

Jung Kook had nodded and kept rubbing his boyfriend's hands, his worry doubling when Jin began sneezing.

As soon as the taxi came to a stop in front of Jung Kook's apartment building, he had shoved several bills into the taxi driver's hands and told him to keep the change as he hurriedly pulled Jin to the front entrance. He must have given too much to the driver because the man had leapt out of his vehicle to help carry their bags into the lobby and then bowed several times before leaving. But Jung Kook had no time to worry about how much money he had given because he needed to get Jin into his apartment and out of his wet clothes.

As soon as the door opened, Jin shed the jackets that he wore and limped quickly into the bathroom, closing the door behind him. Jung Kook jiggled the knob so he could enter and help his boyfriend but Jin had locked the door. Though Jung Kook wanted to be on the other side of the door, he understood and did not insist to be let in. Instead he immediately trudged off to his kitchen to make hot tea for both of them.
