"Me too, who's your date?" I ask, curiously. I never really saw any mysterious boys come around Jace that often, even for how beautiful she was.

"Ben, he asked me out last night. He came to my door and everything with flowers." She explained, having the dreamy look in her eyes that she wanted to be in love. But in reality, she wasn't. Ben was one of those basic white boys who think they're hot, everyone else thinks that, too, but I don't get it. Ben is nowhere above or below mediocre. As long as Jace was happy, though, it was fine with me. The only thing Nova and I have ever agreed on was that we didn't go for ugly boys, we went for the hot ones. The real hot ones. Cliff was just that, too.

"Hey girls," Cliff came up to us near the lockers. He put his arm around my shoulders, then looked at Jace with me. Her shirt matched her eye brows that didn't match her hair. Interesting.

"Cliff, just in time. Did Ben tell you?" She asked, Jace had always remained good friends with Cliff.

"Of course he did. I'm happy for you, Jason." Cliff teased. He called her Jason to mess with her, calling Jace a guys name amused him.

Jace rolled her eyes and glanced behind her. She spotted Ben, who was joking around with a couple friends and laughing in the corner. He hung around the popular boys. Cliff was popular, too, but he wasn't the average jerk. He didn't let his popularity get to his head and he actually cared for me.

"Anyway, see you love birds later." Jace excused herself and she strolled over to Ben and his friends.

"You excited for tonight, cutie?" Cliff planted himself in front of me now, looking deeply into my eyes. He locked himself in my eyes, showing his deep passion and love for me just through his gaze. Nova would never fall in love, she would never give her heart up to somebody. Nova preferred to pretend she was in love. But I didn't. I was in love. And I was in love with Cliff.

"Very excited." I nod, enthusiastically.

"Good, because I've got a surprise for you later..." Cliff tried to sound mysterious, but the tone worked and it definitely made excitement creep up my shoulders.

"So mysterious," I grinned, leaning closer to him ever so slightly.

"Yo, Cliff!" It was like music followed him through the hallways, because the way he walked, the way he always had others walking with him in the hallways, but he was always in the middle, it kind of made him seem like the main character.

Elias Sanchez... Cliff's best friend.

"Did I tell you?" Elias greeted Cliff with some sort of handshake they come up with as he looked him directly in the eyes. His hair was freshly washed and styled, and his bright blue green eyes always took your breath away. Just by looking at Elias it's like you crash into a brick wall.

Elias had the same overgrown confidence following on his shoulders just like Daniel White or Felix Hendrix. He'd always be watched in the hallways as he walked past the lockers and students.

"Tell me what? That you suck at football?" Cliff grinned, then Elias rolled his eyes.

"No, you already know that." Elias glanced at me once, but he still barely acknowledged me. Elias only saw Nova, I'm sure. "Did I tell you about my date? To homecoming?"

Cliff paused, another smile creeping up his face, ready to mess with him again. "...Felix?"

Elias held a blank expression. "Seriously, dude?" Elias crossed his arms. "It's Lucy."
