Chapter 3: New Order PT: 3

Start from the beginning

She smiled as she rolled over to face me.
"Well as you know my body temperature is just a couple degrees shy of 110°."
Luna shifted even closer to where our noses were touching as I continued to hold her close.
"Umm, a bit close."

Luna then had a sultry laugh.
"I don't see you trying to pull away. What's the matter, am I making you uncomfortable?"
Like she did in the gym she started grinding her hips against mine.

"Lulu...please don't."
I whispered.

Her eyes twinkled in the dim light at the mention of her childhood nick name.
"You haven't called me that since we we're little."

The moment was brief, but for a second we locked eyes and never looked away. I could feel my heart something in my chest as Luna inched ever so closer. And then the moment was gone when she had to roll over in order to vomit again.

Next few days we're kind of crazy to say the least. Dozens of EMT's and police officers had arrived at the school homecoming night. Dozens more were taken to the hospital in order to have their systems flushed. A couple of people had partaken a little too much of the punch and overdosed. One of them was in a coma. Principal Solaris had called to check in with us as promised and I gave her an update on Luna's condition. Like she had with the other students that were drugged she was in a conference call with a doctor who specialized and this sort of thing and commended me for doing everything right.

"You and your sister have the rest of the week off of school. Not only due to this incident but also because I know you would skip school anyway just to take care of her."
Principal Solaris smiled sweetly as Luna teased me from behind.
"You truly are a kind and caring soul Damien Blake, take care for now."

On the upside no one was dead, Beatrix and Victoria had stepped away from the dance to go and discuss some student council business. Not only that but Luna was also feeling better as well. Once she had gotten through all the puking as well as the hot and cold flashes as well as the fever she was fine.

As for me I hardly felt the thing for very long. Sure I rode a high for a good couple of hours. But thanks to how I'm built I was able to recover quickly. Which was also good because it allowed me to help take care of Luna without any sort of distraction.

Although I couldn't help but think back to what did happen the other night. The way that it felt for her to be so close to me and in that way, I don't know. But what I do know is that had I not practiced self-control to the extent that I did we both would have ended up doing something that the two of us would have regretted.

However when we did get back to school we had to go through mandatory bag searches. The police were currently investigating the incident at homecoming to its fullest extent. So therefore anyone who is in attendance was under investigation regardless if they were the ones who spiked the punch bowl or not.

But once we got through the bag check Beatrix and Victoria stood on the other side waiting for us.
"Hey glad you're feeling better."
Beatrix smiled as she then pretended like what she just said didn't sound how it did.
"Because as you know if one isn't able to perform their duties on the student council then they're going to have to be replaced."

Luna just laughed.
"As if you can replace me. You'd be absolutely helpless without your little "worker bees"."

Beatrix was a little flustered and turned her head away out of embarrassment as Victoria had a wide smile.
"Glad you're back, it's always such a pain trying to keep this one in line when you're not here."

"I am the student council president and I don't need to be kept in line!"
Beatrix stomped her foot as we all laughed.

Before we parted ways Luna had turned around and given me a hug.
"Thank you for taking care of me."
She said softly as I hugged her back.
