"Earth to Adaline."

I snapped out of my mind again looking at Annie and the rest of the girls sipping on their coffees. All eyes were on me, and I'm all confused as to why.

"So who was the guy you left us for?" Annie jokingly said.

Not this again.

"So did you text him last night?" Sarah asked.

"No."

"What? Why not, like he is really hot." Annie said.

"I'm not looking for anyone, he was a nice guy, that's all." I said, sipping my coffee. "Besides, I probably won't ever see him again."

"Maybe just give it a try, you don't have to date him or see him just text him to become friends." Annie added.

"Maybe."

Becoming friends wouldn't be too bad. He seemed nice, but so did Jackson when I met him. You can never know if it's just an act, where they play the nice guy card and win your heart over and then that's where they trap you into their twisted games. That is exactly how Jackson did to me. He made me feel loved and right when we got married his attitude began to change. I felt like I was his servant. I know he stopped loving me when he hit me the first time, but I thought that deep down the man that I fell in love with would come back to me. There were moments where Jackson would become sweet and nice again. I guess that was him making sure I wouldn't leave him. I tried to help him change, but I gave up on trying. I needed to put myself first and make sure to live my life the way I wanted to before I met him. I had dreams to own a Café that had a mini library in it. I wanted to travel the world. Now this is my chance to do all the things Jackson told me I wouldn't be able to do. I smiled at my friends enjoying their company. I'm happy that I made wonderful friends. Back home I had no friends really, Jackson would scare them off.

"Okay sorry to change the subject but Thanksgiving is coming up and we should all celebrate it at my place." Annie said.

"Sounds good to me, maybe Addie will bring her Prince Charming." Claire Joked.

"Funny."

Annie has forced me into talking with William. Well, she kind of stole my phone and texted him asking if we can hangout on a date. I know she wants to see me happy. And so do I, but I promised myself not to get into another relationship anytime soon. So that being said, William is going to be just a friend I could talk to, and this date is just a casual friend's date. The girls insisted that we go out to shop for a cute outfit for me for tonight. We went to so many different stores and tried on so many cute dresses, and the one that Anne picked was this cute contrast mesh flounce long sleeve wrap hem black dress. We are just going to be at the same bar we've bumped into before, it's not like we are going to some fancy place, but they all loved it and I had no say in this. We went back to my place, and the girls one by one helped me get ready. Annie was on makeup duty, while Sarah was on nail duty, and Calire was on hair duty

"Are you excited?" Claire asked, while she curled my hair.

"Claire, it's just a friendly date thing." I said.

There he is sitting at the same table we were sitting at before at the same bar we met. Annie made me start talking to him, and I was hesitant at first, because I don't want to start dating anytime soon. I'm not ready for a relationship yet, but we do have a few things in common, and he is so sweet, and caring. He sees me and I walk over to him. He gets up and gives me a kiss on the cheek, which catches me off guard and I start to blush a lot. We've spent hours talking and getting to know each other.
