3rd person pov
when they got new york, chad went to his dorm and Mindy went to hers as kai, tara and sam all went to the apartment that they were renting together. they began to organize the apartment together. kai had her own room as did tara and Mindy. with it being three of them living together, rent would be okay and they would survive. it was them three.
"so there's a party tonight and i was thinking about going, kai?" tara asked her and kai looked up from what she was doing to look at tara.
"did you talk to sam?" she asked and tara scoffed
"shes gonna stop me" tara said and kai shrugged her head before there was a knock on the door and they both turned to see sam standing there. she stared at kai and then tara.
"ask her, i have to get this done and then go to the interview i have, ill be back soon" kai said and tara nodded as she walked out and sam looked at kai
"you alright?" sam asked her as she walked over and grabbed kais face to look in her eyes and kai made eye contact. she didn't know what to say and it felt weird to be so close after everything had happened but this was happening.
"ill be alright, you may want to go to talk tara. she has a question for you" kai said and sam walked out as she closed the door and kai got back to what she was doing. once she was finished, she changed her clothes and she grabbed her keys. she heard a door slam and knew that sam had told tara no.
"I'm heading out, ill be back later" she called.
"ill be at therapy so just come home at some point" sam stated and kai nodded as she walked out of the apartment. she was walking until she bumped into a girl
"oh , you must be kai. I'm quinn, your neighbor" quinn said and kai shook the girls hand with a smile. she was cautious but she also didn't care if she got hurt. she needed friends and she could handle herself.
"oh its so good to meet you, I was scared that I would have to deal with not being friends with anyone here. anyways I have to go rush to an interview but I will see you later and we can another time" kai suggested and quinn watched the girl walked away and she smirked. she found herself liking kai and she saw the way sam watched from the door, she knew what she had to do and she was going to succeed at it no matter what.
Kai rushed to the interview as quick as she could in fear that she would lose her spot and not get the fear that she would lose her spot and not get the job. she needed this job more then anything and she would do anything to get it.
"hi, I'm here to see kirby, she told me to meet her here" she stated and the girl at the desk nodded before they heard someone clear her throat and she turned to see the women.
"kai martin in the flesh, its so good to see you. why don't we go talk somewhere more private?" kirby exclaimed and kai nodded as they walked to the room and sat down together.
"so what makes you good for this job?" kirby asked kai and kai smiled
"So I'm going to college for detective business but I've also been involved with everything that happened in Woodsboro last year so I have some sort of experience with catching people" she stated and kirby nodded
"Anything else?" she asked
" ever since I was little I have pretended to be a detective so I got my associates which I'm still going for and then I have been working with the cops on the side to figure out the stuff that's going on here but I also worked with the cops in Woodsboro during everything that happened" she exclaimed and kirby smiled
" I think you'd be perfect for this job Kai you be amazing at it and I need to help so if you're ready for this job I'm ready to take you in" she said
"So im getting the job?" she asked and kirby nodded
"You got the job" kirby said and kai hugged her as kirby laughed and hugged her back.
"Thank you so much for this, i really appreciate it" kai spoke and kirby nodded
"First day starts tomorrow, dont be late" kirby said and kai nodded as she left kirbys office with a smile on her face and she headed back to the apartment. when she walked in, there was sam pacing back and forth with her tazer In her hand
"you good?" kai asked
"tara went to the party after i told her not to and I'm going to get her , you coming?" sam asked
"yeah, yeah of course" kai said and she didn't know why sam was so pissed but when sam was pissed, she didn't question. she followed the women like a puppy dog and anyone would do that after they saw what happened to richie. kai didn't ask about therapy or what they talked about. she knew that it was a sore subject and she didn't want to push the girl even more. she could tell that sam was mad at tara for this. she went against what sam said even though sam did it for her own good.
kai was scared about what was going to happen but she was also excited in a way. she would be getting out of the house and she would be getting to see if sam would truly get mad or if she would stay the same. kai was ready for whatever reaction was going to come out of her and she was ready to back sam up at any point.
now that she thinks about it, her siblings are probably there too and they're probably not making the safest choices either so she should go. that's what shes doing.
