"You were bedridden remember?"

y/n shake his head, unable to recall the time he was bedridden. König informs Marigla that y/n has lost maybe half of his memory, even if he does it's all indistinct.

Just like Dr. Marigla, König is also curious about y/n's past life, wanting to know about why and how he ends up bedridden y/n also wanted to listen.

Milkshake the cat suddenly hops onto y/n's lap curling up like a ball; resting "she likes you" Marigla chuckled. y/n hesitated to touch it, but his palm was inching closer instinctively.

Seeing the cat not resisting y/n gently pat it, now here's the thing; whenever y/n is holding a living creature that's smaller than him, he tends to hold it very gently, sometimes too gently; he also doesn't like to hold them too long not because he doesn't like it but rather prevent his trauma getting him and accidentally killing the living creature in his hands.

Milkshake start purring from y/n's stokes, leaning into his hand.

"About y/n..." Marigla started.

"I don't know much about his life with his parents, I came to know him from my work which you may already know. I'm a doctor.

That day was no different than the other, one day a family of three came to the hospital, I was their doctor. Their kid was visibly ill, they told me they've been to so many doctors and none of them can diagnose what's causing it. His symptoms were coughing blood, nausea, fever; he needed support to walk to the bathroom.

With his condition I suggest he should stay in the hospital for further observation, they agreed, and we assign nurses to check daily.

On the first day of his stay, he starts off with a 40-degree fever, other than soup or porridge the rest are immediately vomit out.

I check on him at least 3 times a week, even after his bazar fever he will go on with other symptoms.

This went on until..." Marigla stops for a moment not letting his emotions get the better of her, she takes a deep breath before continuing.

"It happens about 7 months after his stay. I was in my office check on another patient of mine, and one nurse came to tell me..."

"Doctor, we run into some problem with y/n..."

"Why is that?"

"His parents...they've stop paying the bills, they left him. He ran out of the bed to chase after them, but with his condition he wasn't able to, the staff had put him back to bed. We gave him food that we usually give, but he isn't eating, if this continues...Dr. Marigla; he may die."

Marigla remain silent the whole time taking all that's happened "I understand, I will go see his condition now" standing up from her chair leaving the office"

End of the rewind

"So, I went to check on him, there's a plate of well-cut apple beside him, but it remains untouched. Y/n's condition continues to deteriorate, he looks way much weaker than the first time. I tried talking to him to get him to eat even a morsel. For a kid to get abandoned on the spot; his behavior is understandable, however, I couldn't see such a young kid die in that state.

So not only did I decide to pay the rent for him, but I also researched his disease to find a cure while interacting with him.

I'm sure he was confused why the nurse still checks on him when he's parents aren't paying for him anymore, they properly told him he's now under my care, because when I visited him; he smiled at me.
