She was Kol's weakness and she knew it.

He shook his head but couldn't help but grin.

"What did Nik do this time?" He asked with a sigh.

Emmeline's face dropped.

She swallowed and held her head up high.

"I don't want to talk about your insufferable brother, Kol. I came here to have fun with you."

She walked away from him and looked around the house again.

"Tell me, what mischief can we get up to in Spain?"

Kol was still for a second, staring at where Emmeline had just been standing.

He then turned to look at her.

"What did you do Emma?"

Emma turned to look at Kol.

He definitely seemed more serious than ever.

Emma swallowed hard and stared at him.

Kol let out a huff of frustration.

He tugged on his hair. "Great. You did something to him and now he's gonna come after both of us isn't he?"

"Kol-" Emmeline started walking forward.

"No!" Kol snapped at her.

"I know how this ends. You two kiss and make up and I get a stake in my heart."

"No Kol-"

"That's what happened last time and that's what's gonna happen again. Goodness, Emma! He's probably making his way here right now, isn't he?"

"No, no, no Kol."

Emmeline sped up to him, she forced his face into her hands, making him look at her.

"I would - I would never let him hurt you."

Kol clenched his jaw. He recognised the pattern because this always happened. And he didn't want to play the fall guy again.

"What did you do?" Kol asked again, this time slower.

Emmeline let out a sigh and took a step back.

"I am so tired of Nik and him controlling me. I'm so tired of him trying to boss me around as if he owns me... and I know you are too." Emmeline looked at Kol.

They were too alike for him to ever deny that.

She let out a breath. "So I hatched a plan."

Kol raised his brows at Emma.

"What?"

"You inspired it, actually." Emma spoke, getting more excited.

Kol eyed her skeptically.

"How did I inspire it?"

"Remember when you went off for years and I found you in Egypt trying to do the unthinkable... get your magic back as a vampire."

Kol did remember. Emmeline and his family had been trying to find him for years but he had a dozen witches shield him from all of them, even Emma.

But to be honest? Emma could have still found him if she had tried hard enough.

"We all know that's impossible now." Kol muttered.
