She passed by a lot of toys both small and larger than her. Her mind must be playing tricks because she was hearing breathing in their general direction and she did not want to find out what was making that breathing sound.
Eventually she reached to where the ringing was coming from, an old phone from 300 years ago was making it.
*RING RING RING*
Hesitantly she picked up the phone and raised it to her ear.
"He-hello? Who i-is it?"
"MEI! YOU NEED TO RUN!"
A boy's voice shouted at her.
"W-what? What are you talking about who are you?"
"THERE'S NO TIME YOU NEED TO RU-... Your call has been disconnected please dial again."
He was disconnected from the call...
What did he mean by run...
She needed to get out of here...NOW.
She turned to face the door and then the world just stopped.
Her eyes started dilating, her breathing slowly picked up the pace as her heart pounded in its drumming rhythm.
Outside in the hallway... there was a long and slender metal hand latched on the doorframe.
Mei didn't move a single muscle or make a sudden movement.
The hand was gripping the doorframe with its long and needle fingers occasionally strumming up and down. Almost like it was taunting her that it was going to come in.
She didn't know what to do...she was cornered and going outside probably meant death.
The hand twitched...then it retreated back into the shadows.
Mei didn't move for a solid 10 minutes or what felt like it. Then slowly creeped towards the door, peering out of the room into the quiet hallway.
Nothing seemed out of place. Yet...
She snuck her way through, casting her gaze evenly as she continued on towards the room where she woke up in.
Or so she thought as after some time of silently walking around Mei began to have a terrible feeling...
This hallway didn't seem familiar.
'...Oh no'
Her thoughts echoed reaching to the conclusion that she was lost...
'Alright Mei don't freak out you're fine. I can just retrace my steps and go back from where I came. Right?'
Looking back from where she came it seemed fine to go back.
She turned to move until a loud creaking noise came from the hallway to her left side.
Looking back she saw a door wide open losing the last of its momentum at 0.2 kilogram metres per second.
At first she thought
'NOPE IM GOOD MAN BUT I WANT TO LIVE TO SEE TOMORROW SO SEE YA LATER!'
but whatever cruel god that was in charge decided to turn off the hallway lights in-front of her.
*BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG*
It happened all too quickly. A sudden banging from the dark hallway growing in decibels.
With seemingly no choice Mei quick as a darting mouse went through the open door closing it behind her.
Now she stared at the ceiling in an attempt to catch her breath and calm down.
