Cassandra restrained the impulse to bombard her Jedi with questions, allowing herself to relax and enjoy the walk.
Anakin lifted her over a fallen log on the path like she weighed nothing at all. His hands lingered on her hips, holding her against him. "Careful."
Cassandra laughed brightly. "I can do this myself; you know."
"I know, I just love having you in my arms." He said huskily, his fingers splaying across her abdomen, the heat of his touch burning through the thick layers of her clothes. She shuddered, heat coursing through her veins.
"And I love being here." Cassandra pressed her index finger into his bottom lip, applying gentle pressure. "Just like I love when you kiss me."
"Is that so?" Anakin dipped her backward, her hair spilling over his forearm. He bent over her, lips enticingly close. "Say the word and I'll kiss you right now."
"Now." She whispered seductively, arcing her neck to erase the distance.

Anakin captured her lips in a long, lingering kiss that made her knees buckle. He rested his forehead against hers, eyelids half-mast. "Does that live up to your expectations, Angel?"
Dizzy with a rush of feeling, Cassandra swept an errant blond strand away from his cheek, planting her lips against the corner of his mouth. "It'll do, lover boy."
A pair of red birds landed on a low-hanging limb, whistling a cheerful tune. Tiny iridescent green feathers crested their heads like a hummingbird. The first bird tipped its head to the side, angling a bright black eye at Anakin and Cassandra.
Cassandra studied the songbirds carefully. In this galaxy almost every animal concealed a deadly surprise. "We have an audience." She reported in a hushed tone, turning in his arms.
Anakin smirked at the birds over her shoulder. "Let's go somewhere more private, then."
"They're just regular birds, right? No laser eyes or spitting acid?" She asked apprehensively.
"Entirely normal." Her boyfriend assured.
