H-ornery

Ajal's P.O.V)

I sat on a rock near the River of the Dead, the pleas and sorrows of despair from the souls going down the river always seemed to comfort me when I was stressed out. Lil's been in too much pain recently from her horns coming in, so she wanted to be alone to rest. I happily obliged to that request as I was the one taking the hit of her anger and pain. I tried getting her to ice her head even though her body temp melts the ice within minutes, it could've still worked out for her. I tried having her plunge into the freezing waters of Antartica, she didn't like being wet. Had her lay in the snow face-down, she didn't like that because it smooshed her nose. Every answer I had to help her she found a way to hate it, I couldn't understand that about her as to why she was being so ornery about it all.

I rubbed my head as I felt a sudden sharp in my forehead, she must be close to getting them in fully because that one really hurt. I sighed and stood up brushing off my pants, I cleared my throat, closed my eyes and snapped my fingers then I felt the rush of air. I opened my eyes seeing I was in Lilith's room. She was on her bed crying out in pain while holding her head. There was literal steam coming off of her body. I could tell she didn't register that I was there yet so I snapped for some blocks of ice and went up to her and started icing the skin around her baby horns. Immediate sigh of relief came from her, her pouty lips slowly turned to a smile, her body relaxed and turned into me more.

"That feels nice Aj, thank you." Lilith whispered as she closed her eyes and seemed as if she was drifting off to sleep. I sat there for five hours icing her horns so she could sleep peacefully without waking up from the stabbing pain. As I pulled the last basically melted piece of ice away, I noticed her horns were fully grown out. I smiled and grabbed a tissue to wipe away the little blood that was around the area. I woke Lilith up and looked at her while smiling, I could feel her body being a lot more relaxed now and her head wasn't hurting anymore except for a slight throb. Lil took her hands to her forehead and felt the length of her horns they looked to be about maybe six inches long and a inch or two wide. Lilith jumped up and went to her vanity then seen her horns.

"I look hideous! I look just like my father now!" Lilith screamed out, the screams came out like a banshee almost, I had to blink a few times to fully come back to myself after that. I got up and walked behind her then wrapped my hands around her horns, "Now you look hideous, I could keep my hands like this if you really want me too." I sighed out, watching her reaction, she placed her hands on my wrists moving them on and off her horns a few times then finally leaving them off, "Maybe I'm actually kinda cute with them on." Lilith smiled. I nodded and smiled back, "Yes you are cute." after saying what I said it finally registered as to what exactly I said, and I stood there frozen as she smirked at me.

Lilith's P.O.V)

"Maybe I'm actually kinda cute with them on." I smiled while showing a little fang. Aj nodded and smiled back, "Yes you are cute.". I couldn't believe what he just said. I smirked at him then turned around and seen him standing there frozen, "You think I'm cute Ajal?" I asked him as he looked down at me stuttering a bit, "Oh don't tell me the big bad soldier of the Grim Reaper is stuttering!" I laughed out and looked for his hands which he tucked them behind his back. I reached for them while smiling, I looked up at him with one of my devilish grins and leaned forward on him a bit, "I think you're cute too." I could feel Ajal's body relax a little. I held his hands and noticed how cold he was compared to me.

"I've actually liked you for a while too..." I mumbled out while looking up at him, he smiled and nodded a bit, "I can feel your emotions and pain, but every time I came around you, I could feel when your cheeks heat up." I stared at him shocked, "Can you feel those type of emotion?" I asked in hoped of him saying 'no'. Thankfully he did in fact say no and said our relationship isn't that intertwined yet

I heard a ringing in my ear then looked at him, "We have to go." Ajal nodded and held my hand tighter than snapped. A whoosh of air spun around us then I felt the hard ground under us. There were sirens and screaming around us. I blinked a few times and seen what happened, a tragic car crash, walking to the cars I could hear one of the clients. I bent down with Ajal behind me and I looked inside the flipped car and seen a middle-aged man, he was covered in blood and scratches with glass in his body and face.

"I'm not ready to die." Was all he could say, I turned to Ajal, and he was looking at the papers then handed me his profile paper. Joshua Nickels, thirty-four, a father to three kids and a husband. I sighed and turned back to Joshua, "Joshua I'm so sorry but it's time to go. You can wait for them." Joshua turned towards me in shock, "Who are you? My guardian angel?" I shrugged a bit, "Something like that, but I know that this is your time to leave this world." He looked apprehensive, I nodded while looking at him and he cried a bit while nodding. The people were trying to open the other side of the car, so I hurried and kissed part of his lips, taking his last breath. Ajal rubbed Joshua's arm and then put his soul into a box then snapped making the box disappear.

We stood up and tried leaving but we weren't able too. "Someone else is dead?" I asked while looking around, I seen Ajal point to another car that had a mother and two kids in the backseat. I sighed shakily and went to the car, neither of them made it. I couldn't maintain my composure; I cried as I took all three of their last breaths. I walked away as Ajal finished his part. He came up to me and hugged me, "Who were they?" I asked and he looked at me, "The mother was Cynthia Dawn she was twenty-two, and the kids were twins Anna and Alice Dawn they were six." I cried harder. Ajal hugged me again then snapped his fingers, we were now in a different place, we were in a cave with a small pool of water with glowing fish and crabs.

I looked at Ajal and sighed, "Promise to never leave me?" I asked him and he smirked, "I couldn't if I wanted too Lilith."
