the next couple of days rue spent rotting away in her room, she did jot go out, did not talk to anyone, she was even missing her classes. she just did not have the energy to do any of that anymore. 

not any energy to even care until she received a call from aiden telling her to be outside 'the extacy' in 15 minutes, she did not want to get up, not one bit but she did somehow convince herself to be there 

"what's up girl? you look like shit" quinn greeted rue and it was true, rue did look like shit right now 

"good morning to you too, q" she said making quinn and flynn look at each other 

"it's five pm" he clarified "anyways um" he looked at aiden telling him to continue 

"so we've decided to throw the party in the next two days" aiden looked at rue for confirmation as she nodded "i'll take care of the booze part, quinn is gonna let us know the tracklist. can you and flynn handle the invites?" 

"sure" rue nodded "roughly how many people do we need?" she made a mental note to not invite leighton 

"as many as we can fit" aiden looked around unsure "yeah anyway after you are done we're gonna be back here set the place up tomorrow evening, alright?" he said and shooed everyone away 

rue walked with flynn to different areas of the school just telling him who to and who not to invite 

"why are we only inviting the hot people?" flynn looked around 

"because do you think the nerds or those 'woke' protganists would join even if we invite them?" rue airquoted 

"yeah but i thought this was about inclusivity?" he made rue sigh "we can atleast invite them it's upto those people if they come or not" 

"yeah okay okay. let's invite them. see for yourself what happens" she made her way towards the women's centre 

"hey you" she spoke when she spotted alicia who turned around with a smile 

"wow, what's the occasion? i didn't think you'd be here unless forced to" alicia joked and rue gave an obvious fake smile 

"well, this is my friend, flynn" she introduced him "flynn, alicia" the two shook hands "that's ginger and that's tova" she pointed at the two on the couch 

"nice to meet you guys" he waved 

"yeah anyways" she waved him off "we're hosting a party the day after tomorrow and it'd nice if you came. it's super exclusive and the last we'll be throwing so you can expect epic"

"where's the party?" ginger asked 

"well, do you know the way to the woods that's near the administration office?" the three gave rue a confused look "okay um, administration office?" they nodded "you take a left from the building, you'll have a man-made path you can just walk straight until you hear music i am sure you'll find us from there it'll be loud" 

the door opened as leighton walked in, rue turned around and sighed at the sight. 

"why are you everywhere i go?" she did not know where that came from but was glad she did not have to be awkward now 

"it's the opposite it's like you're stalking me or something" she sat down at one of the couchs "and alicia called me here" alicia nodded at her agreeing 

"yeah, leighton you know rue was just inviting us to a party that she called" alicia looked at rue who had her teeth gritted "what was it? epic yeah. are you going?" she asked the blonde throwing a challenging wink rue's way 

"yeah no, i don't know about this party" leighton looked at rue and rue gave alicia a look before she turned to leighton 

"yeah it's at 'the extacy'" she told the girl "and since we're closing down we thought it'd be nice" she nodded before walking away, when she reached the door she turned around ro look at leighton "and uh" leighton looked back at her "bring a date" she winked and walked off with flynn 

"okay you guys" quinn walked out with a paper in her hand "here's the tracklist" she put the paper on a table that rue, aiden and flynn were sitting around

"took you long enough" aiden mumbled looking over the paper. it was mostly alt rock 

"can i make a tiny little change in this?" she looked aat quinn who just gave her a pen 

rue turned the paper towards her and wrote 'it's not living (if it's not with you)' and showed it to the other three. they just nodded, they didn't have any problem with it. they all knew the song because rue wrote it and made them practice it so much it was on their fingertips at this point.

"why do you wanna leave though?" rue asked quinn when all of them were eating chinese "it's a decent college and you're a fairly good at academics?" 

"well" she started "it's a long story, i always wanted to be a musician. a professional musician. i did not learn drums at six years old to just play occasionally at a random college's underground community" 

"that doesn't explain anything" rue took a sip of her beer

"okay" quinn laughed "my parent's always disappoint me. like from the moment my dad decided to cheat to when they got a divorce, they did not think about me. and the only reason i am even at this college is because my mom forced me. i was a child, couldn't do anything about it. so now i am gonna crush my mom's dream and drop out. then crush my dad'd dream and pursue music professionally" she shrugged "so i am gonna start my own band when i get out of here you know"
