Annika adjusted the camera and the microphone before she entered the meeting.
She wouldn't have been attending the meeting if she didn't required a good attendance ratio so she could be promoted to the next semester. Good grades weren't enough for the college. Even during the quarantine.
Her hands somehow ended up scrolling to her rival's profile and his camera was turned on. She watched as he flipped through the pages of his book aimlessly before he looked straight into the camera. She backed out not knowing whether she was visible on his screen or not. The professor asked her a question.
She turned on the microphone before answering but apparently her voice wasn't audible. She tried again and her eyes coincidentally reached his video, the smirk he had made her gulp.
"Am I edible?" She mumbled out. Her eyes widened. Shit! I meant audible.
"Oh, delicious." His voice echoed off in the quiet of her room. And the rest participants of the meeting watched open-mouthed.
