Vol 3. Workers (3)

Start from the beginning

Sorry. Vasilyev.

You chuckled hopelessly. The only one thing you could think of right now, was how sorry you were to Vasilyev.

But well, Eugene seems to be distracted?

Your eyes immediately darted to the phone which was on the ground.

Looking at the two distracted figures in front of you, you quickly grabbed Eugene's phone, crushing it with your bare hands as the said guy let out a chuckle.

"M/n. You're dumb aren't you?"

Eugene said, patting you who froze in your position by the head as he whistled, a pleased look in his face.

"Everything is backed up, so there's no point. Technology these days is scary isn't it?"

With a playful hum, he continued to ruffle your hair as you just froze there; looking like you flunked your exams.

Should you kill him right now?

Yeah you should. But is that even logical?

You narrowed your eyebrows. What was Illya even doing in a situation like this? Normally, he should be saving you in a situation like this if he liked Vasilyev.

You were left stunned.

Just what the hell was their relationship???

He just left, you to embarrass yourself after seeing you naked???

You stared into space, a betrayed look on your face.

Clearly, in your memories he said he loved Vasilyev. Right?

You don't understand, and you don't even want to at this point.

At this rate, won't Eugene seriously expose this photo to the internet???

He's petty, so he may post it as revenge.

What if Daniel, Eli, Zoe saw it?

You froze there, already hearing the rumors about you spreading in the future.

With a look of defeat, you groaned.

"... What do you want, Eugene?"

He cupped his chin, tilting his head.

"Well. You."

Eugene said, getting up from the ground and fixing his academy suit whilst facing Samuel with a smile.

"Ah, one MCN executive, you're late."

The brooding figure who had been silent all this time, looked at the both of you and then the unconscious woman on the bed.

"Tengu? What happened to her?"

He asked with a raised eyebrow, whereas you just stood by and watched this time.

"Unfortunately, the business plan for expanding our business to Russia ended in a failure."

Taking a seat, Eugene took a sip of his half finished tea.

"She's a VIP guest of workers, are you sure you'd be fine?"

"Well."

Eugene sighed, an uneasy look spread across his face.

"That's why I told you that you guys were late. Although Tengu is strong, that wasn't the main reason we brought her here."

He said, resting his cup on the desk as he crossed his legs.

"Had you guys come earlier, I trusted that we could have overpowered Mr Illya Morozov and had that business plan done."

Samuel sighed, analyzing the unconscious woman.

"Well. She'll be fine but.... I don't know about that guy."

".... Yeah. I know."

Samuel and Eugene exchanged a look of vexation, before they both looked at you.

"Should we just blame it at him?"

"... Yeah. We should blame it on him."

Just a minute after they said that, the door flew open with another masked masculine figure walking in a dandy manner, his hand on his pocket and the other on his phone.

"I've searched this whole penthouse, yet I don't see Tengu anywhere."

He said, scanning the room before his eyes immediately landed to the lying woman as Eugene stood up in reluctance.

Truth was, although the woman was strong, she wasn't the reason he was so confident in the face of a gun.

It was because of her lover.

"Minjun, the thing is—"

Eugene let out an awkward chuckle.

This couple wasn't a part of the workers, but rather VIPs of the second affiliate who happened to be information delegates willing to help them for the exchange of the memory erasing pill.

Eugene called them today because the girl said she had information on M/n, and her lover was a great fighter as well.

Though they were quite the shady couple who appeared out of nowhere, all he cared about was recruiting you to the workers, no matter what forces he had to reckon with.

In exchange for giving him information, the girl would acquire memory erasing pills.

Well. That was the exchange but..

The masked figure towered over Eugene; leaning in a bit too close.

"Hey."

"Who did this?"

The only flaw to this perfect relationship, was that this guy wasn't right in the head.

Wanting to solve this quickly, Eugene pointed at you.

"This guy is the one at fault."

Eugene said, leaving you flabbergasted.

Them blaming this all on you wasn't even an issue right now. Because you were definitely sure, that you heard them call the masked guy Minjun.

Cho Minjun? Your childhood friend? The guy who kicked your balls recently?

"Wait—"

Whoosh

And in a flash, you got kicked in the face.
