But that was not the case now.

The dice have turned. He was in power now.

He scoffed, but his thoughts soon came to a halt.

Office.

Annika.

She is in the office.

Fuck.

Yes, he was not scared of them anymore. But he feared Annika's safety. The last time he had encountered them, Annika was there— no no. He won't let the incident repeat.

This cycle will not turn.

"Mishra, turn the car. Back to the office." Shivaay's jaw hardened. He won't let the history repeat. She couldn't have been here for the good.

"But sir—" Mishra frowned.

"Mishra. Do not question me. I said turn the car back." And now it was followed.

He called Annika. But she didn't pick up his call. Shivaay frowned.

"Hello, Where's Ms. Trivedi?" Shivaay asked over the phone.

"—she was in her cabin a minute ago, sir. I-I will go and look for her." The scared voice over the call spoke. Shivaay cursed and hung up.

Annika walked into his cabin. She frowned when she saw a person inside. No one was to enter his office when he was not here, how did they get in?

"Excuse me? Who are you?" Annika asked. She kept the politeness aside because if Shivaay knew someone was surely losing their job today.

Mallika turned around, "I'm Mallika. I am actually here for the interview. The man in the reception led me here." She answered smiling politely.

Annika's eyes narrowed in recognition. It was Mallika Choudhary. And of course her side-kick by her side, though she briefly wondered where he was right now. How could she have missed it? Even the politeness can't hide the malice behind.

"You can leave." Annika said. She knew Shivaay won't question her if she turned them away. He trusted her.

And she couldn't let her meet Shivaay. She doesn't know the extent of his trauma, she can't let him face this again not when she can prevent it.

"You can leave, we will call you to inform you later if selected." Annika said, she wanted to avoid as much conflict as possible.

"Excuse me?—" Mallika started.

"—Ms. Trivedi." Annika closed her eyes in anger. Couldn't have waited a couple more minutes?

"—I will be out in a minute." She informed and the lady backed away.

Color drained from her faces as they faced Annika. She stood straight in front of them.

"A-annika?"

She rolled her eyes. "Yes?" She raised her eyebrows in question.

"Now you know the reason, you can leave."

Mallika's eyes narrowed at her words and the horror was now replaced.

"I am already here. You don't have the authority to throw me out. Besides I am sure your boss won't be pleased when he hears how his employees behave in his absence—" Mallika sneered.

"Who said?" Annika's eyes widened when she heard the voice.

Shivaay.

Mishra has never seen Shivaay so worried in his timespan he had worked with him. He didn't know what happened to make him behave in such a way.
