Ivy's POV

I gazed up at Lorenzo, his eyes filled with a deep concern and kindness. I felt safe in his embrace, protected from the cruel world outside.

He wiped away my tears, his touch gentle, and kissed my forehead. I didn't resist, feeling a sense of comfort and security in his presence.

He asked me again, his voice soft and encouraging, "What happened while I was away, Ivy?" I took a deep breath, the words trembling on my mouth. My mind went back to the morining.

Flashback

After he went I had been exploring the vast mansion, trying to familiarize myself with its labyrinthine corridors and grand rooms.

My footsteps echoed through the empty halls as I made my way to the library, searching for a distraction from the oppressive silence.

The musty scent of old books enveloped me as I browsed through the shelves, running my fingers over the leather-bound spines. Just as I was about to settle into a comfortable chair with a intriguing novel, a soft voice interrupted me.

"Ma'am, lunch is ready. Please come to eat," the maid said, her polite smile a contrast to the stern expressions I'd grown accustomed to in this household.

"Okay, I'm coming," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. I returned the book to its shelf and made my way to the dining area, my feet sinking into the plush carpet.

As I walked, I couldn't help but think about the enormity of the mansion. Its grandeur was overwhelming, and the thought of cleaning it all in one day was daunting. I chuckled to myself, wondering if anyone would ever dare ask me to do such a task.

After lunch, I retreated to the bedroom, my eyes fixed on the clock as I lay down. 1:48 PM. My mind wandered to Lorenzo's promise to return by 2 PM, and a shiver ran down my spine. I closed my eyes, and before I knew it, darkness consumed me.

My body aches as I snuggled in the pillow but I remember that I'm not in my old home my eyes shot open up and I sit up in the bed with a jolt and a sharp pain went towards my lower body and whimpered but my eyes went towards the clock only to find its 5:56pm.

He still hadn't returned. I felt a pang of relief mixed with anger. I didn't want to see him, anyway. I hated him, and I always would.

I got out of bed, my movements slow and heavy. In the bathroom, I washed my face, trying to shake off the haze. As I adjusted my hair, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My eyes looked sunken, my skin pale. I looked like a shadow of my former self.

I made my way to the garden, seeking solace in the peaceful surroundings. The fresh air and vibrant flowers usually lifted my spirits, but today, even the beauty of nature couldn't calm my racing thoughts. As I strolled along the winding path, I heard a voice behind me.

"Hey girl" I turned around to find a two women.

"Soo you are his wife Hm?" The one who looked older than the other one said.

"Eww mom I dont even know what Lorenzo brother sees in her that he married her" she said with disgust and I realized that they are his step mother and sister.

But why is she saying like this.
"W-what a-are y-you saying?" I stammered.
"Look mom now she is acting like an innocent bitch" she said and my eyes filled with tears.
"Ohh darling Anastasia you don't know about these cheap middle class girls they seduce rich man and then  marry them for money she is just one of them"

"N-no dont c-call me this" I said as tears was about to slip but i will not let them drop.

"W-why w-hat will y-you do?" Anastasia mimicked me and they both busted into laughter and I thought to leave from there.
