"I'm Brody. Anybody know where I can call like... room service or something? I don't like having a roommate." The boy, Brody, mumbles, seeming slightly disgusted by the thought of sharing with the other boys.
"there's no room service, dude." Silas deadpans.
"I mean, this seems to be some sort of... hotel? Like, it's not exactly a hotel, but we're all staying right next to each other. there's a door at the end of the hall, and I've already tried to open it, it's locked. Also tried to pick the lock, didn't work." The girl in the room explains. "oh, I'm Selina by the way!"
I then to the last new person in the room, it's a guy. He's rather short, but that's sort of my only set observation about him.
"I'm miles. How many more people are showing up?" He asks, and everyone shrugs.
"Well at least 3 I'd assume, there's like 5 beds unoccupied beds in the girls' side." I tell them, and another group of kids walk in.
"Hey, did you guys—"
"Also get letters? yeah." We all say at the same time, and the boy's eyes widen.
"Alright... I'm Malachi. I met these two on the way in, Alora and Sebastian." He motions to the other two people behind him.
Alora seems... confident, to say the least. She's got her arms crossed over her chest, giving us all an uninterested look.
"Is this everyone? It seems like a lot of people." Miles mumbles, and i nod in agreement.
"I agree, this is about 10, which seems like a good number. I'm assuming we have to work together on whatever this is." Selina adds.
"Sorry I'm late! My flight got delayed!" I hear from the doorway, and we all turn to face the girl. "I'm Danielle. Dani to most."
"This is everyone, so you all need to get to know each other before the puzzles begin tomorrow. There's a letter that's been left for the group of you, you'll receive it tomorrow." The male guard tells us, then the two of them exit the room.
Okay then...
"I'll grab Jade and we can all re-introduce ourselves?" I suggest, and everyone nods.
I go grab Jade from the other room, who is very reluctant to follow me, but makes sure to insult me a few times before having me follow her back to the room we're all currently crowded in.
Everyone re-introduces themselves, and everyone seems to mostly get along... except Alora and Brody. At least one person seems to dislike both of them, if not more.
The girls go over to their room, but jade stops in the doorway and motions for me to follow her. For some reason I do.
"What's your motive here, Everest? You're too nice to me." She's glaring at me.
"No motive, Rivera. Just being friendly." I raise my hands in defense.
"There's always a motive. What is it, Lopez? I don't have time for your games." She grits.
"Maybe I just think you're interesting. I don't have a motive, but if you'd like me to lie and make one up for you, I can." I tell her, and she rolls her eyes at me, storming off to go into the girls' room.
"Night, Jade!" I shout.
"Goodnight pretty boy. Try not to miss me too much." She says sarcastically before shutting the door.
I can already tell she's gonna be the damn death of me.
Since we've officially all gone our separate ways to get sleep since apparently we have to get up early tomorrow and read this godforsaken letter at 5am in the morning... for whatever reason.
