- "If you think I need a man to defend myself and do the job", she spoke dangerously... "You're gravely mistaken."
The curse raised an eyebrow, amused.
- "Oh, sassy," he mocked. "I like that."
But before she could take a step forward, she found herself unable to move. It was as if her legs simply refused to listen to her. She was literally... petrified.
- "Our encounter was so short last time that I didn't even get the chance to show you my cursed technique..." the voice of the curse from the temple said from behind her.
- "Aha! Yasachi's cursed technique is not to be underestimated, I thought Jogo warned you..." the blue haired curse sneered, clapping his hands excitedly at the scene in front of him.
A curse technique which allowed him to prevent his opponent from moving, eh? Interesting. Formidable, certainly. But that certainly wasn't going to impress Eliana.
- "Okay Shikamaru. You've got some shadow clone jutsu or something?" she joked. "If you think that's gonna stop me from..".
But before she even got the chance to finish her sentence, her legs started trembling, as if they couldn't hold the weight of her body anymore, and she felt herself falling to her knees.
- "What the..."
- "Eliana-san!" Yuji cried worryingly from behind her, but Eliana raised her hand to prevent him from taking another step. It was too dangerous.
- "Oh if it only was as simple as a 'shadow clone manipulation' or whatever you're babbling about," the curse taunted. "But see, there's more to it. The more time you spend under my control, the more weak your body becomes..."
Eliana gritted her teeth. She could feel herself getting weaker. Each passing moment felt like torture as she struggled to regain control of her body. What the hell was this cursed technique...
- "So what you think this will stop me?" she growled defiantly, her voice strained with effort.
But even as she spoke, she could feel her strength waning, her limbs growing heavier with each passing second. It was like trying to swim against a relentless tide, each movement met with greater resistance.
- "I won't... give up," she managed to gasp out, her breath coming in ragged bursts. "Not... yet."
Her vision began to blur, darkness creeping in at the edges. She fought against it, pushing herself to stay conscious, to keep fighting... but the curse's hold was too strong, and with a final, defiant glare, she felt herself loosing consciousness.
But before her body could hit the ground, two strong arms caught her and held her tight.
- "Eli! Are you okay?"
Eliana's eyelids fluttered as she struggled to maintain awareness. He was there. He had come for her.
She wanted to reply, to reassure him, but her body simply wouldn't respond to her commands. He knelt beside her, his touch gentle as he brushed a strand of hair from her face.
He gently laid her on the ground, her head on elevated on a rock for support, before turning around to face the curse, his gaze resentful.
- "Try to harm her again, and you'll see what happens," the man snapped at the curse, as he stood in front of Eliana protectively.
- "Aw, he's protecting his little girlfriend, how touching"... Mahito sneered. "So the great Satoru Gojo does have a weakness, after all."
Gojo's expression remained impassive, but even barely conscious, Eliana could sense the tension in his stance.
Gojo Satoru? A weakness? The man didn't have any weaknesses, that curse was delusional. There was nothing he could possibly do to get to Gojo, the man was literally the strongest sorcerer in the world.
- "Eliana doesn't need anyone to protect her," he grinned. "She's stronger than you all together".
- "Yet she's not looking so strong right now, is she?" the blue haired curse taunted as he pointed at the girl, helplessly lying on the ground behind Gojo.
- "Go to hell," she muttered weakly, her voice barely audible.
The curse laughed mockingly, the sound echoing in the darkness. But suddenly, a surge of power washed over them, and Eliana immediately recognized the familiar sensation of Gojo's cursed energy, swirling around them like a protective barrier.
- "Hollow Purple", Gojo intoned, his voice stern, and Eliana barely had the time to blink before the forest in front of them was engulfed by the pulsating purple energy.
As the cursed energy slowly began to dissipate, revealing the charred remains of the forest, Gojo's expression darkened with realization. His eyes scanned the destruction before him, searching for any sign of the curse's presence.
But that blue haired freak had managed to escape. Along with the other curses, visibly, because he couldn't sense their presence anymore. He didn't know how, because no one could possibly come out unharmed from his Hollow Purple technique.
But there was nothing there. Not even a body.
Behind him, Eliana struggled to her feet, leaning heavily on Gojo for support. She had visibly come to the same conclusion.
- "We have to find him," Eliana said, her voice tinged with urgency as she glanced at Gojo. "We can't let him slip away, he's probably still around..."
Gojo nodded, his expression grave as he turned his attention back to their surroundings.
- "We'll track him down", he promised. "But first, we need to get you some medical attention."
Eliana opened her mouth to protest, but a sudden wave of exhaustion washed over her. She leaned more heavily on Gojo, who bent down and effortlessly scooped her into his arms, cradling her against his chest.
As he held her close, a surge of anger swept through him. He couldn't bear to see her in such a vulnerable state, especially knowing the fierce, determined, fearless woman she usually was. With each step he took back towards the school, his anger intensified. Someone had dared to harm Eliana. Someone had dared to threaten the person he cared about most in this world.
And in that very moment, Satoru Gojo swore to himself that he would never allow anyone to hurt her again. He would protect her at all costs, shielding her from any harm and danger.
Even if it meant putting his own life on the line.
