You stood by the door of the room. You could feel your heart pounding so loud and fast, it felt like it was about to escape from your chest. Your mind was still swirling with thoughts, telling yourself that this was a bad idea, that it would make things worse. Yet you were stubbornly holding tight to that feeling that was burning inside, the feeling that longed for those words from Kankri, those words that had made you feel nervous and shy and... Cared for... You took a deep breath, and your hand hovered over the doorknob, trembling slightly. What if he's asleep already? Isn't it creepy for her to just come in his room at this hour? At least it was a good thing that he was too cheeky about having a roommate... So it's just him but... Enough. You're already here.

You pushed the door open tentatively, and stepped in the room. You slowly closed the door behind, the sound of the door clicking making you flinch. You stood there, awkwardly watching Kankri who was sat up, looking at you as well. This felt wrong.. You swallowed and gathered courage, and then slowly spoke out to him. "...Kankri?"

Kankri immediately wears that smile of his, but it didn't look exactly chill.. It looked... Apologetic. "Y/n, you're here"

You saw that smile on the his face, the way it was so familiar, but different at the same time. It gave off an apologetic feeling. You hesitated for a moment before responding. "Yeah... I'm here..."

"Are you alright? Why are you not sleeping?" he asked, her usual soothing tone sounded oddly.. Distressed.

You heard the other's question, and the tone of distress that subtly laced it. You slowly walked over, closer to where he was. You felt a mixture of nervousness and... something else, as you got closer to his bed. "I'm fine. I just... wanted to talk to you"

Kankri shifted in the mattress, to face you properly. After all, he still had that sweet concern in his gaze for you. "I'm right here"

You stood in front of him, by the side of the bed, feeling awkward. "I actually have something I want to tell you.. Can I sit?"

Kankri nodded, scooting away to make a spot for you. Silently giving you time to speak. You embarrassedly climbed to the mattress, and sat beside him, your shoulders awkwardly touching. You knew you had Kankri's full attention now. You took a final deep breath and spoke quietly. "I... I have something I need to admit. About what happened earlier. I didn't really want you to stop talking to me like you did... I know I asked you to stop... but... I... didn't really want you to"

Kankri's lips purse together, displaying a heartwarming hopeful smile. "Is that so..?"

You averted your gaze for a few seconds, your face feeling hot at seeing that smile. You nodded, turning to look at the other again. "Yeah... I know I told you to stop, but I didn't really mean it. I was just... I was feeling frustrated and confused... I shouldn't have told you to stop"

"Trigger warning, physical contact"
He warns, and you nodded in allow. He reached a gentle hand to your shoulder, softly rubbing your tense muscle.
"I understand"

You felt Kankri's gentle and warm touch on your shoulder, and felt your body instinctively relax at the contact. A shiver went down your spine as the other's fingers gently rubbed your tense shoulder, and you found yourself leaning into the touch. "I just feel bad about it. I shouldn't have told you to stop. I know I did say that I wanted you to stop, but I actually didn't want you to... I messed up"

"You didn't mess up anything" Kankri smiled, amused, yet not mockingly. "You just needed to know what you wanted. You said it yourself earlier, you weren't sure of what you wanted"

You felt reassured by his words, and the way he spoke to you, in that soothing and sweet tone. You let out an exhale, feeling your heart flutter a beat yet again at the other's smile. "I guess you're right. I was just... confused and frustrated. I wasn't sure what I really wanted. And I shouldn't have taken it out on you"
