I laughed and scanned the crowd. It was funny to look at how people were reacting. Some of the aunties have sideway disapproving glances and whisper to each other. They were the biggest hypocrites here! The teenage girls I had met during the Diwali celebrations waved their hands at me and mouthed "Oh my god!" While discreetly pointing towards Anurag. I laughed and winked at them. They squealed and jumped.
I raised my brows when I spotted a group of ladies close to my age. They seemed envious as they narrowed their eyes at me.
"Hey, quick question." Anurag hummed as he glanced at the sky.
"Did any of those girls ever ask you out?" I asked and pointed my head towards a trio who kept throwing daggers at me and Nyra who stood a few feet away conversing with Aarav.
Anurag frowned and looked in the direction that I had pointed out. He chuckled softly and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, they did but then they kind of freaked out because of my hostile resting face." I laughed loudly as Anurag scoffed at me.
"I'm not surprised at all." He rolled his eyes.
"I mean I'm not that bad, am I? You never freaked out because of my hostile face." I smiled and bumped my shoulder against his.
"Well, I'm different and once you build a tolerance level for your hostile face, you are not so bad Mr. Khatri." Anurag rolled his eyes but smiled.
"Well, you are incorrigible Ms. Sharma." I grinned and blew him a kiss. He laughed and tucked my hair behind my ear.
"Ahem." We looked up when someone cleared their throat. It was Aarav.
"Sorry to break it up love birds!" I laughed and Anurag groaned.
"It's our turn to Salsa dance now!" He exclaimed and imitated a waltz. Anurag stood up and extended his hand towards me, I smiled as he pulled me to my feet.
We gathered inside the party hall. There were a total of seven couples. A couple who appeared to be in their mid-thirties were standing in front of the class. They greeted us with a smile.
"Hello, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to my class! I'm Alia D'Cruz and this is my dance partner Patrick D'Cruz who fortunately happens to be my husband as well." We laughed at her introduction while Anurag folded his arms and gave a nonchalant expression.
I bumped his shoulder. He shrugged and muttered, "It was not funny." I rolled my eyes and glared at Aarav, who was laughing beside me.
"I presume all of you are trying Salsa dancing for the first time?" Everyone chimed yes together except for Anurag who was now frowning. I chuckled, no surprise here.
"No to worry. Patrick and I will make this experience worthwhile for you guys," she said and moved to the other end of the room to play some classic Salsa tunes.
She showed us a few steps and asked us to follow her. "One, two, three. Get into your initial positions." The steps were pretty easy, right foot forward left foot forward, repeat then we had to do it together along with some simple hip moments. That doesn't seem so hard.
We practiced the foot moments separately side by side. Anurag glared at me every once in a while I bit my lips trying to control my laugh.
