"Yeah lunchtime." Ann said with finality and just then the teacher entered the class.
I couldn't narrate the story at lunch because I was in Mrs Moses's office. Today's first lesson was maths and it happened that she had given out assignment and I didn't remember so here I am.
"Mr Morris, I know you are my best student but I can't tolerate this kind of behavior" she stated casually.
"Am sorry ma'am" i tried apologizing, oh please I wasn't feeling it. I mean it wasn't my fault I didn't hear the assignment.
"It's okay, but you will be having detention for a whole week after classes Mr Morris you may leave." She finished waving her thick hand gesturing me to leave.
I wanted to oppose or say something but I knew this satanic woman she will exceed the week to two if I even try to open my mouth so I peacefully walked out of the office. The rest of the day was boring as expected, I couldn't concentrate in class and I felt like shit. After classes I was on my way to the detention room when I saw Silas at practice and my heart stopped. I literally punched my chest twice for me to feel it functioning again.
His basketball jersey, slightly damp, clung to his well-defined torso, accentuating every muscle. His hair, tousled from exertion, gave him an irresistibly rugged appeal. As he glanced around, his eyes—a light, soulful brown—met mine, sending a jolt of electricity through my veins. His smile, though tired, was warm and inviting, lighting up the room and making my heart race. The way he moved, with such grace and power, was a testament to his dedication and passion for the game. I watched as he took a swig from his water bottle, his Adam's apple bobbing gently, and I couldn't help but admire the way his biceps flexed with every movement.
In that moment, he was more than just a player; he was a hero, a knight in shining armor, and I was utterly captivated. Every glance, every smile he threw my way felt like a secret shared between us, a promise of something more. My heart swelled with admiration, knowing that to him, I was just another face in the crowd and that was fine right? Don't even ask me how I got here cause I don't know.
"Elly, you are staring"
"I know, he's so ho-" and I trailed off. Who was I about to explain this to anyways. I stared at the guy infront of me and I was sure never to have seen him before.
"Hey, the name's Chris" he said stretching out his hand at me.
"Hey, do I know you?" I asked him.
"Um, maybe I am your partner remember the teacher paired us for the English project." He explained and I swear I didn't know we were given an English project.
"When was that?" I asked with a smile so that he won't be offended. He chuckled before trying to retreat his hand which I didn't notice was left hanging. I grabbed his hand into a handshake and he answered.
"Today, we had another guy in our group but he has never attended any class and the teacher said we should find him."
"Oh,"and my eyes widened "I have detention dude can we talk some other time, bye." I waved and started jogging to the detention room.
I walked in to see some students making stories and others leaning on the lockers. I sat at a locker far from everyone as they all went silent. I thought I was the reason because everyone knew me and I have never been to detention but I was wrong. A huge guy sat beside me and took out a book that looked like comics. He eyed me once and my heart raced at a speed of a race car, I could feel some strange sensation taking over my body as my stomach reacted to a thousand butterflies dancing to who knows which tune. I couldn't resist staring at him even when he was busy reading his comics book.
His presence is magnetic, drawing me in like a moth to a flame. The way his tousled blonde hair falls effortlessly over his forehead gives him a carefree, almost roguish charm. His eyes, a mesmerizing shade of blue, seem to hold the secrets of the ocean, and when they lock onto mine, the world around us fades into insignificance. His strong jawline and perfectly sculpted features make my heart skip a beat every time he smiles, a smile that could melt the coldest of hearts. The definition of his muscles, evident even through his casual attire, speaks of strength and grace. I can't help but feel a flutter in my chest, a silent whisper of desire. Just what the fuck was happening to me?
"Please be silent kids and do something meaningful, Mr Morris you here?" The detention teacher asked looking shocked.
"Yeah" I shrugged not sure what to say.
"Anyways, welcome I guess" he said with an awkward smile before sitting on his chair.
"DASHIELL" someone screamed from the hallway before the door flung open, Silas.
