The day had finally come. After what felt like an eternity, Robby and Alessia were being released from juvie. For Robby, it had been months of battling anger and regret, but for Alessia, it had been three long years of isolation and survival. As the doors of the facility creaked open, the two teens were handed their old clothes, symbols of the lives they had left behind when they first entered.

The heavy door slammed shut behind them as they stepped outside, the dull thud echoing in the now distant past of confinement. Alessia rolled her eyes, feeling the cold metal under her fingertips as she clutched her jacket. She threw a glare at the officer who had shoved them out, but the man was already turning away, indifferent to their newfound freedom.

"Freedom at last," Alessia muttered under her breath, trying to mask the mixture of relief and anxiety swirling inside her. She glanced over at Robby, who seemed more distracted than anything, his brows furrowed, his jaw clenched tight. There was no joy in his expression, just a deep-seated anger simmering beneath the surface.

As they stepped farther away from the building, Alessia noticed two men in the parking lot. They were locked in a tense argument, their voices carrying over the sound of passing cars. She found it oddly amusing, a bizarre welcome back to the real world, but Robby's reaction was far from entertained.

"Seriously?" Robby muttered, his eyes narrowing as he shook his head in frustration. Alessia's amusement faded as she scanned the lot for any sign of her mother, Zoe. Her heart sank when she didn't see the familiar car. It was a strange mix of disappointment and relief. Zoe hadn't shown up, which meant Alessia had nowhere to go—but it also meant she didn't have to deal with her mom trying to play the role she had abandoned years ago.

She unconsciously moved closer to Robby, standing behind him as the two men—who had stopped arguing for a moment—turned their attention toward them. The man in the suit stepped forward, his eyes filled with a mix of concern and regret.

"Robby," the man in the suit called out. His voice was calm, but there was an undercurrent of something deeper. Alessia could sense it—this man cared about Robby, but there was a history here, something complicated and fraught with unresolved emotions.

The blonde man, who had been standing beside the man in the suit, took a step forward as well, his expression torn between guilt and hope. "Hey, Robby," he said, his voice rough and hesitant.

Robby's hand tightened around Alessia's, and she could feel the tension radiating off him in waves. "I told you I don't want you here," Robby stated coldly, glaring at the blonde man.

"You're my son. I wanted to be here," Johnny said, his voice strained as he looked at Robby, pleading for a connection that had been severed long ago.

Alessia had heard about Johnny—how he had abandoned Robby when he was little, only to resurface a year ago, trying to make amends, but always stumbling, especially when it came to his relationship with Miguel, another boy who had somehow taken Robby's place in Johnny's life. The stories had painted Johnny as a man full of regrets, always trying but never quite succeeding in making things right.

Daniel, the man in the suit, finally noticed Alessia, his gaze shifting to her with a polite but curious expression. "Who are you exactly?" Daniel asked, his tone gentle but firm.

Alessia, caught off guard, stammered, "Um... Robby's friend, Alessia, sir."

Before Daniel could say anything else, Robby stepped in, pushing Alessia slightly behind him as if to shield her from whatever was about to happen next. "Don't talk to her," Robby snapped, his voice sharp and protective. "She doesn't need to be part of this drama. Don't do me any favors. It's your fault I was here. The only good thing in there was meeting Alessia."

Daniel's face fell at Robby's harsh words, a pained expression crossing his features. He sighed, clearly struggling with how to respond. "I know you're upset, Robby. I was trying to do what was best for you. Now that you're out, I just want you to know that I'm here. And if Alessia needs someplace to stay, she's welcome to stay with us. You and Alessia, if she wants, have a home at Miyagi-Do."

Alessia's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. She hadn't expected that. The offer was kind, even generous, but she couldn't help but feel wary. She knew nothing about this man, and his sudden concern for her felt strange, almost too good to be true.

Robby rolled his eyes at Daniel's offer, clearly not impressed. "Or with me," Johnny quickly added, his tone hopeful as he glanced between Robby and Alessia, desperately trying to find some way to connect with his son.

Robby's eyes flickered between the two men, the anger and frustration clear in his expression. "Both of you... stay out of my life," he snapped. His voice was full of finality, as if he was trying to cut ties once and for all. "That includes you not talking to Alessia. After all, she is my girlfriend."

The word hung in the air, and Alessia felt a jolt of surprise shoot through her. Girlfriend? She stood frozen, her mind racing as she tried to process what Robby had just said.

Daniel and Johnny exchanged surprised glances, their expressions mirroring each other's shock. "Girlfriend?" they asked in unison, clearly taken aback by the revelation.

Robby didn't wait for their reactions. He grabbed Alessia's hand again, pulling her with him as he walked away, his pace quick and determined. Alessia stumbled slightly as she hurried to keep up with him, her thoughts still spinning.

They walked in silence, the rain starting to fall as they made their way out of the parking lot and down the street. The cold droplets soaked through their clothes, but neither of them seemed to notice. The weight of what had just happened hung heavy between them, unspoken but impossible to ignore.

The rain poured down in steady sheets, soaking Robby and Alessia as they walked away from the tension-filled encounter with Johnny and Daniel. The silence between them was heavy, filled with unspoken emotions and the weight of everything that had just happened. Alessia's mind raced, her heart pounding not just from the confrontation, but from the words Robby had just said—words she hadn't expected.
