Yuji's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Next up is a 180-degree spin. It sounds harder than it is. Let me show you how to do it, then I'll wait for you at the bottom of the bunny hill."
Yuji set up the 180-degree spin with a demonstration. He skied down the slope, building up speed before hitting a small jump and executing a smooth, effortless spin in mid-air. He landed cleanly, beaming with pride. "See? It's all about timing and confidence. The jump is key to getting the rotation."
You watched intently, trying to absorb every detail. "Alright, I think I've got it. Let me give it a shot!"
Yuji skied over to the side of the slope and took up a position where he could watch you, ready to offer encouragement. "You've got this! Just remember to commit to the spin or else you'll fall."
You positioned yourself at the top of the slope, taking a deep breath. The bunny hill looked deceptively innocent from up here but it was still freaky.
With one last breath, you started your descent.
As you approached the jump, you focused on the spin. You pushed off, and for a split second, you felt suspended in the air.
And then you were falling. Like . . . you were literally falling sideways.
Somehow, luck was on your side and you landed in a soft snow bank. "Well shit." You coughed up a little snow and sat up. "What the hell?!"
Yuji laughed as he skied up to you. "I told you not to bail half way."
You brushed snow off your face and looked up at Yuji, who was struggling to contain his laughter. "Yeah, thanks for the tip. I guess I misunderstood the 'commit to the spin' advice. I definitely committed to the falling part."
Yuji held out a hand to help you up, still chuckling. "Hey, falling is part of the learning process. Plus, you look like you made a new snow angel. That's gotta count for something."
You took his hand and stood up, shaking off the snow. "Well, if making snow angels is a skill, I'm definitely a pro."
Yuji grinned and patted your back. "Don't sweat it. It took me a while to get the hang of it too. Let's do another try, and this time, commit all the way through."
"Alright, one more try."
You made it up the snow bank. And then started to slide down. And before you even managed to get a trick in . . . you landed flat on your side.
From your spot on the floor, you watched as Yuji doubled over in hysterical laughter. He hollered up to you. "Do you want me to hold your hand when you come down?"
You groaned, lifting yourself up from the ground. "Yes please."
Yuji made his way up and pulled you up. "There we go princess. My little skier."
You gave him a playful shove. "Put some respect on that title. I'm clearly a natural at this whole falling thing. But if you're going to laugh, you might as well help me get this right."
Yuji managed to compose himself and extended a hand. "Alright, I'll be your personal ski buddy for the next run. Let's get you down this slope in one piece."
With Yuji's support, you made your way back to the top of the slope.
"Okay babes. We got this." He kept your hand held tightly within his own. "There you go! You're doing it!"
You giggled. "Good grief Yuji. We just got passed by a two year old."
"Hey, that's fine. I'm busy trying to keep you upright."
You rolled your eyes. "Well I landed a jump thank you very much."
He snorted, "Beginners luck, love. I've watched you fall on your ass all day."
You couldn't help but laugh at Yuji's comment. "Yeah, well, it's a skill that takes time. Maybe I'm just practicing my graceful falls for the Olympics."
Yuji chuckled, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze. "You'd totally win at the olympics."
"Thanks for the support Yuji."
"Hey - you're still standing. That's pretty good."
Apparently Yuji's compliment was the kiss of death. Because the next thing you know, you were leaning.
As you were leaning forward, you realized you were losing balance. The snow beneath your skis seemed to have suddenly transformed into a slick, treacherous surface, and before you could react, you felt yourself tipping over.
One minute you were skiing. The next, the wooden pieces were detached - and both of you were falling.
Yuji managed to yank you slightly - a bit too harshly.
Then both of you were on the floor. You on top of Yuji and . . .
And your mouth was on his.
And . . . and . . . and you were kissing.
You pulled back quickly, your face flushed with embarrassment. "Oh my god, Yuji, I'm so sorry!"
Yuji blinked, his cheeks turning a slight pink as he looked up at you. "Uh, no need to apologize. That was... unexpected."
You scrambled to get off him, your skis and poles tangling as you tried to stand up. You couldn't - Yuji's arms were wrapped around you. "I didn't mean for that to happen. I just lost my balance and—"
You weren't given a chance to finish your sentence.
Because Yuji was kissing you again.

(A/n): Well that went from 1 to 100 pretty quickly. But hey! The long awaited kiss has finally made it! A win is a win y'all. A win is a win.
