I

I paid the cab driver and started walking with my two suitcases and a duffle bag. Looking at the time I knew that if I hadn't packed my things before ten, I probably would've still been at the apartment.

The forest was a nice shade of darkness, giving a bit of unease to it but the faint glow in the distance was what got,me skeptical.

Was that the mode of transportation? I decided to thread carefully. If anything was to go wrong, I could teleport out, no biggie.

A woman stood before the portal with a smile and I got spooks down in my bones.

"Kaya Evergreen?" After receiving a nod from me, she gave me a ring with an emblem in the gem. "Right through here."

I looked at the breach in space and saw a place where many students roamed the front yard of a large building.

I gave the woman a look. "If this is a prank and I die, I'll come back to haunt you guys."

The woman only smiled and gently nudged me forward into the portal.

I, thankfully, caught myself before my body could even think of falling in front of these people.

"That would be embarrassing." The dark entity was still on my shoulder. "Though, I thought I'd been stuck outside."

"What do you mean by that?" I held the toy sized creature in my hand, glaring down at it.

"Your string."

Those two words alone made me looked at the strings that didn't stretch for miles like it once did before. Also tightening on my finger.

That means- "They're close." I smiled at the small creature before walking along to not seem weird to others.

Unknown to me, two others also experienced the same shock of their strings tightening.

"Hey, I love your outfit." A blonde with ling hair complimented me.

"Thank you...?" I had to look at my outfit to make sure it was me she was talking about.

"I like your hair."

"No, her eyes."

"You're our new friend now." The blonde wrapped her hand around mine and started the introducions. "I'm Stella, princess of Solaria."

"Sierra."

"Corla."

"Catherine."

"Kaya." I also introduced myself.

"Wanna take some pics?" Though it wasn't a question as the brunette immediately took out her phone that had a glowing orb in the middle.

"Okay." I smiled for the pictures, figuring to ask about the ball later, eyes flickering to a guy who walked by flipping a knife.

"Oh my fairy, I love your smile." Catherine once again compliments.

"I know right, her teeth are so straightened and white." Stella nodded along. "I love a person who maintains their teeth."

"Unlike some people." Corla's comment drew all of our attention to a girl who was walking by.

"Snake."

"Liar."

The girl hurried to drag her bag, bareky hiding the green scales on her face.

"She's a morphus, reptilian." Catherine answered my unspoken question.

"She spread rumors about us last year and almost got Stella expelled." Sierra had a wide eye look.

"But we don't talk about that. Past is in the past." Stella began.

"Let's make the future our last." The rest continued.

And that is when I knew I had to be friends with these girls. Their like the fancy kids at my old school. Stuck up but so much power in what they do.

We began talking a lot to kill time and they were really amusing to hang around with. Catherine and Corla are twins, emotion fairies while Sierra is a transporting fairy(what they call her since she can teleport them or make them invisible).

"Well, I have a first year to show around." Stella reminded us. "You can go on. They'll show you to your room."

"I think you'll like it." Sierra held my left hand while Corla was on my right.

"Okay, see you soon, Stella." I waved a goodbye to the fairy who smiled and waved also.

She seemed nice.

We began walking up the stairs of the Fairy Hall while talking a bit.

"This is the Fairy Hall, over there is the Specialist Hall." Catherine pointed across the yard.

"Abilities here, weaponry there." Corla gave a difference.

"It's also where our resident fboy resides with his best friend." Sierra held up her phone. "Smile."

The light almost blinded my eyes but I managed.

"So photogenic." Sierra looked over the picture.

"A little history on the fairies and specialists." Catherine then began yapping but I had my attention on two boys roughhousing at the Specialist yard.

My strings were around their fingers.

"Shall we go?" Corla started pulling me along, leaving no room to respond, again.

The room was very spacious and I had the twins and Sierra as roommates as they expected.

I laid across the bed, feet dangling off and staring up at the ceiling.

"Hey, Corla?!" I called out for the girl.

"Yeah?!" She called back. I jeard footsteps coming closer to where I was. "Why are you not getting ready for the orientation party?"

"That's where I need the help." I rolled over onto my stomach, looking at my clothes that were already packed into my closet.

"Girls! Code green: 8522!" Corla poked her head out the door to call for the others. "Alright, favorite color?" She asked me while pulling me to sit on my bed.

"Green." I answered while eyeing Sierra and Catherine who came in dressed in their own robes and makeup in hands.

"Favorite movie?" Stella also came in, drawing her hair from behind her robe.

"Probably Mean Girls..." I stared off into space, seemingly enough for them to color associate everything green for me in my closet.

"Let's get snapping."

"What is it with you and the crazy ones?" Riven shook his head at the blond.

"How do you know she's crazy?" Skye wipe sweat from his forehead. "You haven't even met her." He pointed his training stick at him while they circled each other.

"You've got a ginger girl? Dude they're crazy." Riven said it as if it were a fact, making eye contact. "Amazing shags though."

Skye he knew he meant it as a joke but still strikes back. "You speaking from experience? Didn't realize your hand was a redhead."
