Having learned that her mate was none other than the king, she was overwhelmed with fear. She had always prayed to the goddess, asking for someone simple, but she had forgotten to specify exactly what she wanted.

The thought of finding such a good person as her mate felt like a miracle. She started to wonder if she was even deserving of someone like him. Then, she remembered the a grandmother had once given her.

As a child, Nakshatra had gone to the shelter, upset after a fight with her uncle. At just ten years old, she had been found crying there. A kind grandmother had approached her and asked, “Why are you crying like this?

Hearing this, Nakshatra replied, "I have no one. No one wants me. Everyone calls me names, saying I’m a mother killer. I’ve never even seen my father." As she wiped her tears, she looked up at the grandmother.

The grandmother smiled and said, "Who said you have no one? Look up there, that's my mate" Nakshatra, confused, looked up and saw an old man feeding the others at the shelter.

The elderly woman patted Nakshatra's head and said, "When you turn 18, you will find a partner who will stand by you for the rest of your life. He will be your support in everything. Together, you will face every challenge, and he will bring the world itself to you if needed."

Hearing this, Nakshatra asked, "Will he play with me too?" The elderly woman smiled and replied, "Yes, he will play with you, and he will give you everything you want. He won’t make fun of you like others."

Nakshatra wiped her nose and said, "Okay, I’ll wait for him to come, and we’ll play together. He’ll give me his toys, and I’ll eat his sweets." The innocence in her reply made the elderly woman smile.

Back in the present, Nakshatra continued to remember those words, hoping that her mate whoever he was, would be someone who loved her deeply.

The dragon sat at his workplace in the palace, lost in thoughts about Nakshatra. It had been so many years since he had seen his destined mate, and meeting her all of a sudden felt overwhelming.

Just then, someone knocked on his door. It was Steve, holding all the details about Nakshatra. Stephen asked, "Why are you suddenly focusing on work so much? You’ve asked for everyone's details, especially that of the girl who started working here yesterday. Why the sudden interest?"

Rogan responded, "It’s nothing. I just need to check the background of everyone working here."

Stephen, suspicious, asked, "But there was no need for that before. Why now?"

"I've taken up the royal position, so I need these things now," rogan replied.

Steve frustrated, said, "Just because you got the royal title, don't think you can flaunt your arrogance around me. Don’t let the crown get to your head."

Rogan laughed and said, "Alright, alright, just give me the details."

Steve handed him a paper with the details of Nakshatra and others and left Rogan glanced at Nakshatra’s profile and remarked, "She’s not even from a werewolves .She’s from the lowest ranks. How can I keep someone like her by my side? If I let someone of such little ability stand next to me, everyone will question the governance of pack. She has no skills at all."

He continued, "Why would the moongoddness pair me, someone of my stature, with her? I could never accept her as my partner. My kingdom needs someone capable, someone who can stand beside me and help rule, not an ordinary girl with no abilities."

As these thoughts consumed him, deep down, his wolf was crying, pleading with him,

"Don't reject her"

"Don't reject her."

Rogan spoke to the wolf inside him, saying, "You need to stay quiet. All you do is ask about mate, but right now, an entire packs is looking at me with hope. I have to fulfill the promise I made to my father, to protect his kingdom without any flaw.

How can a simple girl from a distant place stand by my side with dignity? Everyone will question it. She doesn’t even know how to interact with the people here. If she’s meant to be my partner, I’ll be responsible for protecting her too.

I need a strong and courageous woman, not someone who hides behind the carriage all the time. I can reject her if I wish, but right now, I can't.

At any moment, our kingdom could be attacked, so I’ll wait a few more days before thinking about it. But deep inside, there was a wolf voice urging him to give her a chance."
