Walburga blushes as she feels her orgasm rising and she gasps, catching her breath. Her cheeks feel like they're on fire, but she smiles. These kinds of letters started a few days after he left and it's their way of coping with the distance. She clears her throat and gets up to clean her hands, then she takes the letter and puts it in her pocket before taking some paper and writing a reply to her boyfriend. My dear Sirius,
As always, your letter made me so happy. I'm always afraid there won't be one when I arrive, but you always respond. My regards to John, I hope he doesn't tease you too much about your mediocrity in cards. Don't worry, I'll cheer you up. I miss you terribly, you have no idea how much.
I know you told me that you are in my heart when you are far away, but I miss you anyway, I feel like my life has been put on hold until you come back to me. Regarding your little moment of pleasure, I am delighted to know that my words have managed to bring you good, but know that yours have returned the favor, I still tremble when I write to you.
I hope you have enough food, when I see the trucks in town, they don't look very loaded. I manage to lie to my parents, they don't suspect anything and don't worry, for the moment, my mark remains inactive, I have not been called. Sometimes, I tell myself that I have to do like you, but my parents would see it. I will wait. I have thought about it. When you come looking for me, you'll take it away from me, like you, and that way, it'll take them even longer to find us, hoping they never find us.
The wedding with Orion is coming, and even though I know it's only temporary, I still dread it. Forgive me for this short letter, but I can't be away for too long. Take care of yourself my love,
I love you and kiss you,
Wallie.
She closes her mouth and gets up to join the little owl who is waiting wisely at the window. It is still a baby and she doesn't know how Sirius managed to train it, but she doesn't complain. She strokes him then ties the letter to it before watching it fly away. She smiles, her hand on her heart and then she rushes to the bathroom to throw up. This fear makes her sick, she knows it's not good for her, but she can't help it.
Feeling bad, she leaves John's appartment and hesitates before entering a Muggle doctor's office. She has to learn if she wants to live among them. Walburga waits in the almost empty waiting room and when it's her turn, she goes into the office and sits down.
She's nervous and her voice is a little shaky as she answers the man's questions, then she lies down on the examination table and lets him examine her. Staring at the ceiling, she thinks back to Sirius' letter and blushes when the doctor addresses her.
"Excuse me?" she says.
"Can I take off your underwear?" the man asks. "I'd like to have confirmation of a pregnancy."
Walburga stares at him for a long moment, motionless and she feels her chest compress. The man seems worried because he pats her hand. She ends up nodding, but throughout the examination, she keeps telling herself that it's not possible, it's unimaginable.
"Well," says the doctor, "that's right. You're pregnant."
She shakes her head, it's impossible. It's true that she didn't get her period, but it's because of stress, it's not because of pregnancy. Her belly isn't even round. Understanding her distress, the man pats her hand again and smiles at her kindly.
"Sometimes the body reacts according to the mind, you told me you suffered from a lot of stress and put it all down to anxiety," he says.
Pregnant. The word runs over and over in her mind. She's going to get killed, how can she hide this from her parents? Her belly is bound to get bigger. Walburga gets up, unsteady, and she looks at the doctor, her lip trembling.
"What should I do?" she asks. "I didn't finish school. I'm on vacation, but... But how am I going to do it?"
"You can terminate your pregnancy," he says. "There's still a possibility, but soon, you won't be able to anymore. And if you decide to keep it, you'll have to come regularly to check that everything is okay."
"Abortion? What? No," Walburga exclaims. "I want to keep it."
She put her hand on her stomach, as if to protect it. It had escaped her, but she realizes that it is the truth. She wants to keep it. That baby is a piece of her and Sirius, there is no way she is going to kill their baby. And she hopes that he will come back soon, that her pregnancy will not be seen and that they will run away to build their family.
"I want to keep my baby," she says.
