We exchange a smile then turn back to our little ones, soaking in the sound of their laughter, the sparkle in their eyes, and the pure, innocent joy filling the room.
Jiya's pov
"Avya, sleep, baby. It’s already midnight" I say softly, watching her play with her dad.
She looks at me with those big, sleepy eyes but quickly shakes her head. Her tiny fingers clutch Dev’s shirt as if holding onto the night itself, refusing to give in to sleep.
Reyan on the other hand, is already struggling to keep his eyes open. Dev notices and gently scoops him up. "Come here, my baby. I’ll put you in your crib"
Reyan lets out a soft sigh, resting his head on Dev’s shoulder. As soon as Dev lays him down, he snuggles into the blanket and drifts off within seconds. He was exhausted after playing with his brother all day.
Dev turns to Avya, who is still resisting sleep, her tiny fists rubbing against her eyes. With a small chuckle, he lifts her into his arms and starts pacing the room, rocking her gently.
It doesn’t take long before her stubborn fight ends—her eyelids flutter shut and she breathes softly against his chest.
I let out a relieved sigh and climb into bed, feeling the exhaustion settle into my body. Dev carefully lays Avya in her crib and then joins me, wrapping his arms around me as he switches off the lights.
I rest my head against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat as he gently strokes my back.
"Did they make you tired?" he asks in a low.soothing voice.
I smile against his shirt. He worries too much. He had even considered setting up his office at home, just so he could help with the babies. But I refused.
Mira and I both left our jobs not because we had to but because we wanted to. Every woman makes her own choices and this was ours. We chose to give all our time to our children, to watch them grow, to cherish every moment.
"They are really smart, and they don’t trouble me much. But your daughter…" I sigh, shaking my head. "She makes me so tired while eating. She doesn’t like healthy food at all and that’s when I really feel exhausted"
Dev chuckles, his fingers gently tracing patterns on my back.
"And my baby boy?" he asks his voice filled with warmth.
I smile, thinking about Reyan. "He’s really calm. He doesn’t make me tired at all. And most of the time it’s Mira who feeds Avya, so it’s not like I have to struggle with her every day"
Dev lets out a deep chuckle, his chest rumbling under my cheek. "She’s really your carbon copy" he says, pressing a soft kiss on my forehead.
I sigh and nod in agreement. "She is. Every little habit of hers is just like mine"
"And Reyan is just like me" Dev says, a hint of pride in his voice. "Calm and composed"
I smile but a thought lingers in my mind. If only I knew how much anger Reyan would have in the future—just like his father.
I feel Dev’s hand slowly slipping under my T-shirt, his touch sending a shiver down my spine. I know exactly where this is going. My breath hitches as I look up at him and the knowing smirk on his lips makes my cheeks heat up.
I don’t say anything. Instead I lean in and press my lips against his, feeling the warmth of his breath against mine. Dev doesn’t waste a second. He deepens the kiss, his hands pulling me closer as he kisses me with the same passion as our first time.
Even after two and a half years of marriage, every time we kiss, it feels just as thrilling as the first.
He hovers over me, his fingers slowly working to remove my clothes. My hands wrap around his neck, pulling him closer.
Before long, he pulls the blanket over us and the night becomes ours.
Abhiraj's pov
"Did you put him in the crib?" my baby asks as I walk back into the room after putting Avi to sleep.
I nod and climb onto the bed beside her. The moment I settle down, she shifts closer, placing her entire weight on me and hugging me tightly.
A soft smile tugs at my lips as I wrap my arms around her, my hand moving up and down her back in slow, comforting strokes. I press gentle kisses on her head, inhaling her familiar scent.
"I'm so happy" she says suddenly her voice soft yet filled with emotion.
I tilt my head slightly to look at her. A smile plays on my lips. "Any reason?" I ask.
She shakes her head, snuggling deeper into my embrace. "Just… seeing our family like this makes my heart feel at peace" she whispers.
This mansion, which once felt like nothing more than a silent, empty structure, now feels like home. It echoes with laughter, baby giggles, and the warmth of love. Our three kids our little family this is what happiness feels like.
A thought crosses my mind and I run my fingers through her hair. "Should we take the babies out somewhere tomorrow? It's the weekend" I suggest.
She lifts her head immediately, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "Really?" she asks, her voice full of joy.
I chuckle, loving how easily she gets excited about things that make our little family happy.
She nods eagerly, excitement shining in her eyes. I chuckle at her reaction. she is a mother to our kids but to me, she will always be my baby.
"You all will feel good but let me make you feel good for now" I murmur, my voice dropping as I pull her closer. A deep blush spreads across her cheeks as she understands my words.
I tilt her chin up and press my lips to hers, starting slow, savoring the warmth of her soft lips. She responds instantly, her fingers running over my chest, sending shivers through me. The kiss grows deeper, more urgent and I lose myself in her completely.
With a soft gasp, she melts against me, her breath hitching as I pull her beneath me. My hands explore her, memorizing every inch as I make her mine again. The room fills with whispers, soft sighs and the rhythm of our hearts beating as one.
Wrapped in each other’s warmth, we let love consume us, lost in a world where only the two of us exist.
