A prophecy rose that Dragonborns will save the world from devastation. Centuries ago, the lands were divided amongst many races after a war erupted with Archdevils surfacing the lands. Everyone plays a part in either the destruction of the lands or a part in trying to mend the lands. Good and evil. Who can say which is the better fighter? Here are some races that play multiple roles.
Angels: They are human-like beings with beautiful, large wings. After a big war battling off Demon Lords from surfacing, the Angels made a home in the clouds to protect their race from destruction. They do grant humans their celestial powers to grant the lands some form of protection and light.
Aasimar: They are humans with a celestial heritage, otherwise known as Angelic. Favored by the Angels, granted powers at birth. As a symbol of harnessing and mastering their powers, Aasimar can release energy to form their wings and summon Angelic armor. Their celestial heritage also provides them with a path in life to follow; these paths range from guardianship, protection, and generally being a force of good, and protecting people from evil. Some Aasimar deviate from a good-natured path as they get overwhelmed by the weight of protecting the world and tend to see this as a burden. Aasimar are normally assigned to protect human populations, as humans cannot possess magical capabilities.
Humans: They come in many different shapes, types, and sizes. Humans have countless different ambitions, dreams, and goals. What this race lacks is strength; however, they make up for this in determination. While human hearts may not always be pure, many will do anything to get what their heart desires. That being said, humans could make the perfect or worst party member. It depends on their personality traits. Humans typically do what's best for themselves, but there are exceptions for people who have a caring aspect; they think of what's best for the group they are part of. As Humans are not capable of harnessing magic, some build their strength to protect their people.
Centaurs: They are a blend of horses and elves who primarily live within forests, celebrating life and nature. Some believe they were once elves cursed for their greed in refusing to help humans. That, however, is far from the truth. The centaurs were elves cursed by their own actions, though not out of greed. They performed a ritual to grant strength to the elves so they could protect the land from the uprising of demons. The ritual did not go as planned, merging them with the horses they rode. Initially discouraged, they eventually embraced their new form, which granted them speed and accuracy—especially when aiming in the dark. The ritual also opened a void that created what would come to be known as Changelings.
Changelings: They are beings with the ability to shapeshift into other humanoids. However, they cannot change into just any form—they can only mimic humanoids whose body height and build are similar to their own. The Changeling's natural forms are pale, almost porcelain-like skin tones. Their bodies are slender, with their hair often a light metallic color. Changelings are rare, almost extinct, and they have a clear opportunity to abuse their powers. However, many of them try to fit in with a society of other beings, living normal lives and blending in. If they stand out, they may be persecuted and marked as a disgrace. Changelings are normally hunted by Deva.
Deva: They are immortal spirits. This being said, even if they "die", they will be reborn over and over again. Since Deva's are immortal, the only way one can "die" is if they sacrifice their body to save another soul or a transfer of power. Devas were once upon a time trapped into granting wishes (also known as Genies), but Devas no longer have those binds to masters. This has led many Devas to search for a new cause to serve. But the majority of them enjoy their freedom from shackles. Devas have an urge to love, live, and excel in life. They thrive off of whatever situation is thrown at them, and they're intensely fascinated with the world and everything that resides. Devas do remember the lives they once led in servitude, the wars they fought against the forces of evil. This being said, they are strongly committed to good causes. Their commitment to good comes partly out of fear, as a Deva whose soul becomes corrupted by evil could be reborn as a Rakshasa, which is a race of deceitful, villainous, tiger-like humanoids.
