Ignorance

Me : " I'll eat well.."

Mom : " Jinri.. Can't you resign your night part-time job..?"

Me : " Why?"

Mom : " It's dangerous to work at the late night for a girl like you.."

Me : " I'm ok.. I can protect myself.. I'm not a baby anymore.. I'm already adult, so don't worry.."

Mom : " But.."

Me : " Mom.."

Mom : " ... Ok.. I believe you.."

I smiled and continued my dinner. After I had done, I took my bag and headed to the door. I put my sneakers on and left home but after saying goodbye to my dear Mom.

Our apartment building has no elevator, so we have to use the stairs and we lived at the third floor. On my way to the convenience store, I noticed that some workers were heading to the buliding. I could guess that someone was moving to that building since the workers were carrying some stuffs to the building.

Anyway, it was none of my business. I had to focus on my own career.

Jongin moved to Seoul and rent an apartment which he could afford with his own money. He had to find a job as soon as possible and so he didn't go to the apartment first. He asked some workers to carry his some stuffs to his new apartment. He went to look for a job.

While he was roaming around the city, he saw a restaurant which a papar was stuck on its glass door.

Wanted
Part-time waiters and waiteress.

He went inside the restaurant without hestitation. And he didn't know that restaurant was where Jinri and Bora was working.

Fortunately, the manager gave him a job. He would work as a male waiter at that restaurant.

Then he came back to his new apartment. After taking a quick shower, he unpacked his stuff and set some things neatly in his house. Then he tried to prepare his dinner.

But he remembered that there was nothing to eat for dinner. So he grabbed his bag and headed to the door. After locking his apartment, he left to a nearest restaurant. But almost all of the restaurant were closed at that late hour. So he finally headed to a convenience store near around. And that store was where Jinri was working.

Jongin entered the store ... while Jinri was arraying the stuff at the wine stand. They didn't notice each other since Jongin's face was covering with his cap and Jinri was just focusing on her work.

Jongin headed to the food stand and took a ready-made sandwich. Then he walked to the fridge. He took out a bottle of soju and tossed a bit off. .. Yes.. He usually drinks soju since Jinri left him.

Then he walked to the cashier and Jinri was already standing at the counter. He handed to Jinri his unfinshed soju and sandwich. Jinri took them and said,

Jinri : " 15, 000 won.."

Jongin took the money off and handed to Jinri. Although their positions were facing each other, they didn't look at each other and just focusing on their own jobs. After ending their works, Jongin left the store while continuing his meal.

While Jongin was not a far from that store, something stopped his way suddenly.

Jinri : " What are you doing, Ahjusshi?!"

Jongin turned his head a bit to look at the cashier girl. He saw that girl was being bullied by a drunkard. Being a cold-hearted boy, he tried to ignore them. But her next yell made him stop again.

Jinri : " Ahh!! LET ME GO!"

Jongin didn't see that girl's face clearly, but he could see that drunkard was wrapping his arms around that girl. He couldn't ignore them anymore and made his way to that store again. As soon as he reached near them, he grabbed that man's arms from Jinri and punched him.

Man : " What are you doing?!"

Jongin : " So what are you trying to do to that girl?"

Man : " Just mind your own business."

Jongin : " She's my business."

Man : " What?"

Jongin : " That girl is my girl. No one can touch her except me."

The man gave them his death glare and left the store with his drunken steps. Jinri sighed and felt relieved because of Jongin's protection over her. She tried to look Jongin but his face was covered with his cap. When Jongin was about to leave,

Jinri : " Thanks.."

But Jongin ignored her and tried to leave again. Jinri felt something weird in her heart when her saviour ignored her. She had felt that feeling before whenever Jongin ignored her.

Unknowingly, she grabbed his arm that made Jongin look back to her.

Her grasp loosened as soon as their eyes met....
