Double Vision [boyxboy love story] Pt. 3

Start from the beginning

I nodded, slowly, I was looking anywhere but him.  Why did he have to give me that face?  I asked myself.  I took a step back and then another, “I’m going to get dressed.”

Alec and his twin sat on his bunk, staring at us.  Alex broke the silence, “Good morning, Ethan!”

I gave him a nod of acknowledgement and grabbed my bag that I put underneath my bed the night before.  I held it in my arms before hurrying into the cabin’s bathroom.  Here’s the thing about me: I’m not gay but I take my time getting ready.

I took a hot shower and took my time trying to rid everything and take time to take one of my "almost asleep" shower rests.  I grabbed a pair of jeans and a random tee-shirt before tugging them on.  Looking in the mirror, I was happy with my appearance and nodded to no in paticular.

I dried my hair by rubbing it with a towel and then hair drier.  I smiled when I finally finished and brushed my hair, making sure not to mess up.  I sighed and crossed my arms, searching for my backpack.  I made my signature "ah-ha" sound when I found my sunglasses.  I slid them on and sighed.  Grabbing my sneakers, I tied them messily before grabbing my crap and hurrying out.

“Dork,” Nicky slid passed me and grinned at me with one of his secret smiles, “You still take forever in the bathroom.  Maybe the rumors are true.”

I made a face, and mimiced the step loser, “Maybe the rumors are true.”  I snorted and waved behind me as I mumbled, “Jackass.”

            “I heard that!”

“I hope you did, you stubborn moron!” I yelled back and threw my backpack under the bed.  I straightened my back as sighed and held a hand out to the shorter boy, “Hi, my name is Ethan.”

“I’m Oliver,” he said, quietly.  I barely could hear him but I nodded and gave him a kind smile.  He was a lot shyer than any guy I've met.  But then again, I've only had a small group of friends and the "pleasure" of meeting Nicky's football friends.

I held my hand out to the taller one and smiled, “And you must be Drake.”

“Yeah, what’s it to you?” he said, stubbornly.

I pierced my lips and then bit it, trying to find the right words, “It’s just a name.”

Alex jumped down from his bed and broke the awkward moment, “Want some breakfast?”

I nodded, “I’m starving.”  I defintiley have to thank Alex for that later, I made the mental reminder.

“Follow me,” he replied and led me out the door.  I followed him and frowned when he stopped abruptly, keeping a equal stature beside me he slowly asked, “So tell me, how did you realize you were gay?”

I sighed and let out shakey laugh, “I’m not gay.”

“Still confused?” he frowned, “Or are you bi?”

“No,” I gave him an uncomfortable smile, “I’m not attracted to men.  Someone just walked in at the wrong time and assumed otherwise.”

He looked at me, “You can tell me, you know.”

His dark gray eyes stared deeply into my own and he smiled as I opened my mouth and then closed it, “I know, but you don't want to know the complete story I bet."

He sighed and gave me a stubborn smirk, “I asked, didn’t I?”

I frowned as I told him the story and kept my gaze in front of us.  And what did he do?  He laughed as he grabbed my waist and hugged me, tightly.

He began to laugh harder when I awkwardly patted his back, unsure what to do, “You are so innocent, it’s hilarious.”

“So can I ask you a question?” I asked he took a step back and we continued to the cafeteria.

            “What?”

“I heard that you and your brother…” I coughed and tried to choke it out, “That you and your twin…” another cough, “You and Alec are…”  Jesus Christ, it's just a question, spit it out, Ethan! I told myself angrily.

“Together?  Yes," he answered, sounding a bit guarded, he grabbed the scruff of my shirt and snarled, "Have a problem with that?"

“As long as you stay away from my bed, I’m okay with it,” I said, I pressed my forefinger to his forehead and pushed him away from me, slowly, “Don't touch me.  And that means no of your hugging either.  I'm a no touchy-touchy person.”

            “Hard to believe with…”

“Nicky?  You have no idea,” I chuckled, “So are you and Alec that way?”

“Yeah,” he shrugged, “In a way, most people thinks it’s wrong but Oliver and Drake accepted us.  But they’re so strange compared to me and you.  Oliver can barely even speak while Drake is so outright about his words… But lately Alec has been pushing me away and I feel like he is not in love with me.”

I looked at him and sighed, “If you ever need a person to talk to, you know who to ask, okay?”

“Back at you,” he whispered, and visibly, his shoulders tensed.  I suddenly knew what he was so awkward about.

I sighed, “Okay, one.  Only one.”  He grinned and hugged me again, rocking back and forward.  I took a step back from him, “I was serious when I said I was hungry.  Where’s the grub?”

“Grub?” he looked at me and then took a second to understand, he smiled and amused, he grumbled, “Follow me, Weird Words.”

“It’s Mr. Weird Words to you!” I said, smiling as he lured me further down the trailed.

Author's Note: Why can't there be guys like this in real life...? Well, straight ones.  The good ones are either married or gay.  :-D
