                Diary,

I think I need to give you a name. What do you think? (Ugh! I’m taking this writing in diary too seriously..) I’m going to call you Carter so it would feel like I’m talking to her.

Carter? He named his diary to me?

I was at the hammock in the backyard, reading Aaron’s diary. It’s Saturday and I didn’t have anything else to do so I figured that reading Aaron’s diary would kill the time.

                           She’s ignoring me.

Who wouldn’t? After what I said to her, I bet she’s cursing me right now. I just wished I could go back and change what I said. Do you think ‘Can you be my girlfriend?’ will change it and we can be friends? Haha.. I wonder what her reaction would be. I have to approach her again tomorrow and test that out.

I don’t really have that much to say, so…

                Peace and out!

                I closed the diary.

M’s voice was in my head. The way he said my name, it was stuck in there. I really wanted to know who he was. I guess, there would be mysteries in someone else’s life from time to time. It would be boring if there were no surprises, right?

“Carter, you have a visitor!” mom called out.

I hurriedly rushed to the front door to see who it was.

“Hi,” Aaron greeted me with a huge grin.

I scowled at him before shouting, “Mom! Aaron’s not a visitor!”

Mom came by my side. “Yes, he is. Hello, Aaron,” she greeted the guy in front of us.

“What are you doing here?” I asked rudely.

“Now, now, Carter. Be nice to Aaron. He’s alone at his house today, so I invited him for lunch,” mom informed me before going back inside the house.

I gaped at my mom’s retreating figure. She couldn’t be serious, right?

The aforementioned guy snickered. “Close your mouth, Carter. Don’t want any flies get in there,” he smirked.

I glared menacingly at him now. Just then, the phone rang. I ran towards it before mom could answer it.

“Hello?” I answered, a little out of breath.

“Who’s that, Carter?” mom asked from the kitchen.

But I didn’t answer her. “Hello? Is this M?” I asked the caller.

All I could hear was breathing… the same breathing as M.

“What do you want?” I asked. If he needed a friend, he should ask me personally so I could help him if he had some problem. “Hello?”
